For example, if you click on an advertisement on our website, you may be taken to a website that we do not control. These third-party websites may independently solicit and collect information, including personal information, from you and, in some instances, provide us with information about your activities on those websites. We recommend that you consult the privacy statements of all third-party websites you visit by clicking on the "privacy" link typically located at the bottom of the webpage you are visiting.

Your choices about collection and use of your information

Linked information:
Cookies: A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user's computer for record keeping purposes. Cookies can be either session cookies or persistent cookies. A session cookie expires when you close your browser and is used to make it easier for you to navigate our website. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. Cookies on our website do not link to or store your personal information.
For example, when you sign in to our website, we will record your user or member ID and the name associated with your user or member ID in the cookie file on your computer. We also may record your password in this cookie file, if you indicated that you would like your password saved for automatic sign-in. For security purposes, we will encrypt any usernames, passwords, and other user or member account-related data that we store in such cookies. In the case of sites and services that do not use a user or member ID, the cookie will contain a unique identifier. We may allow our authorized service providers to serve cookies from our website to allow them to assist us in various activities, such as doing analysis and research on the effectiveness of our site, content and advertising.
You may delete or decline cookies by changing your browser settings. Click "Help" in the toolbar of most browsers for instructions. If you do so, some of the features and services of our website may not function properly.
We may allow third-parties, including advertising companies, and ad networks, to display advertisements on our site. These companies may use tracking technologies, such as cookies, to collect information about users who view or interact with their advertisements. Our website does not provide any personal information to these third parties, but they may collect information about where you, or others who are using your computer, saw and/or clicked on the advertisements they deliver (such as click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over, etc.), and possibly associate this information with your subsequent visits to the advertised websites. They also may combine this information with personal information they collect from you to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of greater interest to you. The collection and use of that information is subject to the third-party's privacy policy. This information allows them to deliver targeted advertisements and gauge their effectiveness. Some of these third-party advertising companies may be advertising networks that are members of the Network Advertising Initiative, which offers a single location to opt out of ad targeting from member companies and provides information about this behavioral advertising practice (www.networkadvertising.org). This policy covers the use of cookies by CuddleComfort.com only and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.
Web Beacons: Web beacons (also known as clear gifs, pixel tags or web bugs) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users or to access cookies. Unlike cookies which are stored on the user's computer hard drive, web beacons are embedded invisibly on the web pages (or in email) and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence.
Web beacons may be used to deliver or communicate with cookies, to count users who have visited certain pages and to understand usage patterns. We also may receive an anonymous identification number if you come to our site from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website. Third parties may use anonymous information about your visits to our site and other websites in order to improve its products and services and provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
Forum Use
Image uploading
When you choose to add an image to a post in any part of our forum, you agree and understand that in doing so it becomes public domain and cannot be deleted thereafter.
Forum images that are added to your posts are uploaded using a third-party service provided by Imgur and are hosted on their servers, not ours. We do not have any control over the images you upload and post on our forum.
All images uploaded will be made available via their direct URLs at any time, which means they can never be made secret. Even if you later remove the image from your post’s content or if you delete your post entirely, the image itself still remains online and accessible via its direct URL.
Reports and confidentiality
Reporting another member for misconduct is highly valuable to the community. If you intend to file a report, thank you for your contribution.
In regards to privacy, while discretion is an important consideration for us, under some circumstances your username can become known to the accused member.
In order to increase the likelihood of a fair outcome, there are circumstances where we will disclose your username to the accused member. One example being when a report is based on evidence that is not hosted on our website and therefore is not easily verifiable. In such a case, we may disclose your username to the accused member so they have the opportunity to defend against the claim and provide their own evidence.
The vast majority of reports do not lead to the reporter's username being disclosed but it is still possible for you to become known to the accused member through other means. For example, the accused member might guess you are behind a report if they have recently communicated with you but not anyone else. Your identity can also be guessed if we disclose the nature of the report or details of an incident.
You can request in your report that we do not disclose your username or details of an incident to the accused member. However, please note that this might prevent an investigation and subsequently prevent any action being taken.
