Captain Sir Thomas Moore, affectionately know as 'Captain Tom' died today at the age of 100, following complications from coronavirus and pneumonia.
Captain Tom is an army veteran who rose to fame in the UK and further afield after pledging to raise £1,000 for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden with his zimmer frame. He eventually raised over £32 MILLION pounds, and hold the Guinness World Record for most money raised in a solo charity walk, and also the Guinness World Record for the oldest person to have a Number 1 single in the UK charts.
He was an true inspiration in a time of great uncertainty, and will be missed by millions.
