If so do you own one or thinking of getting one, which do you think is the most reliable one & why? I have narrowed it down to my top 3 & curious to see if they align with others’ preference as well, thanks.
I own a 2020 Lectric XP. It folds, its battery hides inside the tubular front half of the frame, and has fat tires that take very low air pressure. It comes with an accessory rack preinstalled, and even panniers in the box when it arrives. I have already rode mine almost 1,700 miles since getting it on 7/20/2020 and haven't had any problem with it. Now when the battery dies, riding it in manual mode is slower than an unmotorized bike because the battery and motor add weight to it. If I fold it down to put it in the back of an Uber, I usually ask the Uber driver to help me lift it.
The Lectric XP is a class 3 eBike with a maximum speed capability of 28MPH and has five pedal assist levels. It does have a 7-speed drivetrain with a single derailleur, which helps when the battery dies and I'm miles from my home. I shift the gears down to make pedaling the heavy eBike easier until I can get home and charge it up.
Despite its features, the Lectric XP is one of the least-expensive eBikes on the market. I paid $900 for mine brand-new and ordered directly from the manufacturer. After about 900 miles in about 4 months, the panniers developed holes and began ripping all over. I bought a Sunlite lockbox to mount on the rack in place of the panniers, and that's been working out for me.
@APV i really appreciate the in depth review!! I also want to add that every time I look up an ebike company on YouTube I get a Lectric ad almost always !! Are you familiar with Super 73/ Juiced Bikes / Ariel Rider / Monday Motorbikes/ Onyx Motorbikes ?
I just pre-ordered a Swytch e-bike conversion kit, after researching them for a while I figured it was the best option for my type of use, which is just dealing with occasional big hills. I don’t have any experience with it yet, and it won’t be here for 10 weeks, but the reviews look good.

@moxbro i have a coworker who absolutely swears by trek !! Not sure what you mean by ‘can’t coast ride on it’ ... I tried looking at the specs as far as range / what type of throttle & top speed & couldn’t find it (I tried doing a brief search, but for that price I really think or suggest you take a look at the Ariel Rider Grizzly or Juiced Bike HyperScrambler. Both companies have different levels as well that may fit your need but as of this moment those two i mentioned are their top of the line.
