Dopamine Crash

Yesterday evening I experienced the most amazing cuddle session -- but it all ended far too soon. Three hours was not even close to enough. I would book her once a week for an overnight session if I could afford it. All I want is for her to lay her head on my chest while I hold her tight.

From my experience, dopamine crash is a much greater danger with evening cuddle sessions, as compared to morning and afternoon. The moment of departure, and the aftermath, is in my experience much less painful if the session ends before dark, or better yet, before midday.

    Thanks for sharing your experience.

I find that my negative thoughts are more intense and pervasive at night. It's harder to deal with low mood or a drop in mood when it's dark for some reason.

  • @MountainCuddles with you all the way mate. I find it much easier to come out of a good session into daylight.

Top tip though - after a few hours of cuddling stop and stretch. Drink some water.

Ugh, @CuddleDuncan quit pushing your lifestyle choices onto other people, damn it! 😉

We don't all want to drink water, OK? Some of us enjoy having overworked, clapped out, dehydrated kidneys 💦😂

@BuggleBear Right?! How else are we supposed to reach our yearly quota of kidney stones? :joy:

On the thread's topic - I think I'm lucky, because a single cuddle session can keep me charged for days before I get a dopamine crash. I'm a cuddle camel. I had a fantastic all-day (1pm-8pm) cuddle/chat today and didn't have a crash when I left, but I'm guessing that'll come Wednesday or Thursday.

@squeakytoy 'cuddle camel' made me laugh out loud. That's my new go to.
