I wondered if anyone has noticed they tend to cuddle a certain type of person? Perhaps it has to do with age, gender, body type, style of communication, etc.
As an enthusiast, I prefer cuddling with bigger people. That’s really the only thing I’d factor in when finding a cuddle buddy for myself, aside from a nice personality, some things in common and good hygiene. I like to be a “knapsack” (which is basically big spoon but my leg is wrapped around my partner’s torso, and my arms rest on their back, or I stroke their hair). That’s not the easiest position to find comfort in with a person who is the same size, or smaller than me.
Height doesn’t really factor in on that note, but the smaller I feel, the more knapsack-y I feel and therefore the more I enjoy the cuddle. That said I was in a relationship with someone who was just my height (5’8) for a number of years, and we’d fall asleep in this position every night.

I'd prefer a female... I don't think I have anything particular about body type (although I'm curious about a gal that's taller than I), and age (maybe near mine would make the conversation easier...?) - also, not that I'm swimming in cuddling requests, so... An easy flow for communication and topics, and nothing necessarily "thought provoking". I already work with R&D and technical stuff all day, so a true break and relaxing time during cuddling is perfect.
The way someone communicates is all I normally use to decide whether to meet/cuddle them. If they're respectful and engaged/engaging, not in a rush to get me alone with them, and don't throw up any other red flags, I'm more than satisfied with that! I've met cool people off here (and online in general) just using that filter
