is deactivated same as banned?
No, the two are different. Deactivation is something members voluntarily do to themselves. It's a way to unplug for a while. Deactivated profiles don't show up in search, and no one can message them. But the profile is still preserved and the deactivated person can reactivate and come back whenever they want. I have deactivated several times over the years when I needed a break.
"Banned" is exactly what it sounds like. Banning is something the site does to the member, usually for serious infractions of the rules. From the user's point of view, it's involuntary, it's permanent, and it completely deletes the profile.
So a profile that has been either banned or paused shows the site taking action against the user. A profile that has been deactivated or deleted shows the users taking action on their own accord.
“Banned” ... the site Bans first then asks questions later . So .. banishment is an immediate safety measure for the safety of members . Being banned .. , then released back into population , or unbanned is nothing to be ashamed about, frankly , a banned member, then unbanned by the website is in fact verified as real .
