Any musicians on the site? (just ignore...I want no more haters, thanks.)

I know it's non-cuddle related but are there any and who is interested in some collaboration? I'm a bassist with a background in Industrial, Noise, Avant-Garde Jazz, and a little Black Metal thrown in for good measure. I play any style, however. My personal original writing tend to be on the somewhat dark/experimental side. I also love performance art.

He can post something non cuddle related, he posted it in the "General" forum. There is a cuddle forum as well, and I did not see this in that section.
Not to mention he was even considerate enough to start the post off by saying it was non cuddle related, and if you were not interested, you could have left before spending anymore of your time here on his post. Lets keep the peace please.

Thanks, Brandi. You're a doll. I searched high and low and I apparently broke ZERO rules. I'm not advertising, it's not spam for a gig, I'm just merely saying I like playing music with people randomly just for fun. At the end of the day, it's merely another form of connection/communication and, yes, is actually REALLY important for some for emotional well being.
The person I am now and the person I was before music are two entirely different people.

There's nothing wrong with this post. No one was harmed. This is a general forum and friendly conversation is not only welcome and encouraged but it is essential to us as human beings.

I started playing the guitar when I was around 14-15 years old. I'm 38 now and can't say I've stuck with it as a main hobby, but I can hold my own. It's fun to revisit from time to time.

Revisiting is always a blast and a great way to burn off stress and negative energy. 

What kind of bass(es) do you have? I have several, but really like my 12 string octave bass. (4 x 3)

I used to play bass but haven't played in years. A couple of the guys in my garage band back in high school have went on to do pretty well. My brother currently plays bass for a known artist. Brandi knows ;-) Music is amazing.

I've been "playing bass" for about 33 years now. I put it in quotes because my current role is somewhat uncharacteristic of what is commonly thought of as bass. There's a lot of feedback, texture, soundscaping, and experimental journeys involved that are largely improvisational in nature nowadays.
Depending on who the artist is, there's a fairly high likelihood I may know your brother. I've been working NAMM shows for several companies for 17 years now.

@PatchworkMan Sorry that we got off on the wrong foot. You are a cool looking guy and you're rocking it! I was just in a bad mood that day. Nothing personal. I was a bass guitar player as a teenager in a garage band. I should of kept it up. Music is therapeutic just like touch. 

That's the main reason I do it, it's therapeutic as hell. I also now teach it as it's been helping others and am in the process of starting a Southern California music and art therapy program for physically, mentally, and emotionally disabled individuals. I was inspired to do this because I have a retired Army/Police individual who has PTSD and the practice regimens I give him have helped to control episodes, plus I engineered his lessons to work out his hands after finding out he was diagnosed with MS (it's attacking his hands first). It's a wonderful way to workout both the mind and the body.

I meet with a social worker next week who specializes in disabled care. We're working on a game plan to get this started. To her knowledge, there is no such program in California right now. This is long overdue. 
I even reached out to a software developer that has a program/peripherals where someone can compose music through eye movements. I was thrilled to find out that this removes the limitations to what can be done.  

 Nice!  I'm studying music therapy, and doing that kind of work is what led me to open up to platonic cuddling.  That's really cool @patchworkman.

Myself not a great guitar player , although I've started building solid body electric guitars 15 or so years ago , with an idea that I might get into that full time . The PRS factory is within commuting distance to me,they are always looking for help .( except they don't pay much).
I've learned that it is easier to , construct , and assemble, the guitar . Harder to set it up for playability, 
I have three tele style guitars in various stages of construction., if I can  only find the time ........

Just remember, 30 minutes every night before bed adds up to 14 hours every month. Practicing before bed lets your subconscious loose on what you've just learned while you sleep, as long as you relax and internalize while you play. That's how I learned to fluidly play piano poorly within the last few months haha.

Wow, lots of bass players, add this one to the list. Been playing for 40 years now. Grew up in an R&B/Soul house, trained in jazz, played heavy rock, post-punk/new wave in the 80's in Boston, blues, singer-somgwriter stuff, acoustic bar stuff, and bit of country. Agree that music is therapy and happy that it has been in my life.

Bassist here as well. Kinda makes sense to see bassists on a cuddle site. Our job is to sit in the back, hold down the song, and make a whole lot more happen than most realize. We're the bridge that pulls a song together, fills the gaps, tames the lead guys egos and ties them to our Animal drummers. All to see the crowd's heads bobbing, hips swinging, and feet tapping.... and hardy anyone knows it's we bassists aligning the rhythm to the melody... to pull those feelings out. And so many of us do it without ego. To serve the song, has always been my credo.

I had a 12, i loved it. Last band was a 5piece though and singer also played guitar. Generally I stick to my 4-strings. And after moving so many times, I unloaded a lot of my gear. Pretty much just my amp stack, a practice amp, then main stage bass, my "writing bass", a project bass, and a fretless. I may end up getting an 8string (4x2) one of these days, as I do love the effect!

Labels. I just had my 12 modded to have a hot rails guitar pickup added to give me a 2nd output. That way I can effect 2 different chains/amps and create a full sound. But i also have an emerald guitars 6 string fanned fret acoustic

Nice. Billy Sheehan runs separate jacks for each pickup. I think Alex Lifeson does that with his Les Paul's, too. I rebuilt a bass and split the pickups so one pickup was E and A strings, the other was D and G. Would run the D and G thru a synth effect and tap huge chords, while rolling a groove on the low end. I have a couple guitars. Mainly just to get ideas recorded. One day I'll upgrade the guitar. I'm currently fixing/rebuilding a 1927 classical. Beat to hell, but I bet it'll sound great!

Cool. I don't have the pickups under different strings just to different channels. More like Royal Blood but the 3rd pickup gives me tonal options than the stock bass pickups. The additional pickup has a 3 way switch to kill it, use it as a single or a humbucker. Look up michael manring's bass it is crazy how he has it setup.

Dig it! I know exactly what you mean. The one i set up for different strings, I picked up in a pawn shop for $50. FIgured why not lol.
I've got a late 70's Guild with 2 dbl humbuckers. I recently defretted and am planning to run the pickups separately. But, it was left in a musty basement by previous owner so needs to be completely gutted. Just haven't motivated to redo all the wiring and pots quite yet. One of these days! Plus,i still need to redo the wiring on the first guitar i learned to solder on.. or rather didn't learn, but learned I did it wrong lol. Have learned since. Too many projects! I always wanted to do a EVH thing and put an effect right in the body of the instrument

Cool, I need to learn how to do that stuff myself. I have so many ideas

Trial and error! It was Mark Sandman from Morphine that really got me interested in trying to new ways to wire instruments. He made all sorts of crazy combos purely for ease of live performance

Yeah, I know a guitarluthier near me, i hope to learn a few things from him. My acoustic electric bass has both a mag pickup and a piezo with separate controls and jacks
