No.
But if it violates the Terms of Service the moderators will, ahem, discuss this with you. Basically any normal photo is fine i.e. wearing clothes.
to my knowledge, pictures show up on your profile immediately after you upload them, without having to go thru approval process. how you want they look depend on what you had upload,blurry, filter...as long as they are no nudity, genitals showing, profanity.

Just post some pics, it'll be fine. A profile is better with pictures.
