I think such people will someday know what it feels like to be treated like dirt for simply having a disability. Or are the same ones outraged about things like racism, etc., while they are out here treating other humans like dirt for simply having a health condition. I do not want a pity cuddle, I respect someone's choice to not want to cuddle someone with a disability. Though to be rejected with such disrespect over it is despicable. Anyway, I will continue to stay hopeful and someday I shall meet people who not only respect others and platonic cuddling. Though who are also utterly fine with me and my disability.

And for anyone who acts like that, remember that disability is just an accident, a bad fall,* etc., away. Or your loved one could end up on the same boat that quite a few of us are on. So you might want to get off of your high horse at least once in a while. They may walk around like they are, though they ain't all that better than us. To hope:

Despicable, yes. From personal experience: if enough people do it often enough for long enough, not only do you get used to it, you start having trouble seeing yourself as human, too!

Wow @Lovelight ~ I can only imagine how hurtful that was. And I know it happens. I was messaging with a man on here who was concerned I was only contacting him because of his disability. But he also mentioned the rejection when people found out.

I'm so sorry that happens here. I hope you find someone who is genuine and kind, and who cuddles you just for cuddles sake.

@DarrenWalker Nah, some man's awful rejection ain't gonna take away my humanity. I've fought much bigger battles than these pesky awful attitudes. I am determined to not let it stop me.

@Lovelight: Yeah, one man's not enough to do it. Takes a whole family (and church)! Don't worry about it even if it does happen, though—losing the ability to see myself as human hasn't slowed me down any.

Report the wanker. It is true that it is not technically a breach of the TOS to be an utter, utter, UTTER bastard but it means that the mods won't give him the benefit of the doubt if he gets reported by somebody else.

I guess I'm fortunate that I have never been asked about my disability. Perhaps it's because in my early adulthood I'd constantly bring it up without being asked. Nobody ever seemed to care because I grew up in a far-right conservative area full of disability deniers who all seemed to use the same three words: "just not trying" in reference to people with disabilities. Yeah we're just not trying, are we? BULL!!!! My father was obviously the first one I met, but nearly everyone his age and older I was dealing with while attending Cincinnati State College from 2001-04 also claimed I was "just not trying". Not just my father's siblings and in-laws, but even most of my classmates because they were also his age or older and held similar political views.

I'm so glad I got outta there. I just claim I was born in the wrong place because the Cincinnati area offers no compassion or help to people with disabilities, especially "invisible" disabilities that are entirely or predominantly neurological or psychiatric in nature. All they do is deny and even threaten us with violence, criminalization, or being indefinitely banned from certain public places or activities.

In my chosen area, where I now reside, I do face a lot of denial of my disability (autism), but not in the same manifestation as 20 years ago. In far-left land, my autism is being denied by false accusations of rudeness and "not knowing how to control myself". I don't think it's necessarily political views that cause these people to treat me like this. I think it's cultural because practically nobody in my chosen area was actually born inside the U.S. I'm the one who's in a minority here.

Anymore it's actually getting harder and harder to talk about my autism with someone who has in fact asked and actually wants to know. I'm just so used to 9 out of every 10 people who approach me or I approach them calling me rude, saying I don't know how to control myself, or saying I'm just not trying due to political, cultural, or other beliefs that may have been more popular during the middle decades of the 20th century or before.

@APV that is awful, sorry to hear. I hope things get better for you where you are now. I think some of it is due to lack of education and fear of the unknown/judgements. Or they think disability is something shameful to not be seen with. Which may be part of the reason they deny. Some people even go so far as to not use the assistive devices they need. Or they tell their children not to.

I do have autism and ADHD, i was diagnosed with autism in 2008 and i think ADHD in 2008 as well.

I am also diagnoised with a diease regarding my feet. It is called Plantar Fasciitis, i'm unsure when i was diagnosed with this one

@dell3231 the post wasn't meant to ask others to tell me/us about their disability. It was me quoting the gist of what someone said to me as clarified in the proceeding test. Though thanks for sharing.
