Cuddling while grappling in a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class

I mean technically when you are sparring and rolling around with your partner, its platonic and its cuddling, although a bit more aggressive. 🤔

Physical sports, including martial arts, are often a form of positive physical contact.

Joking aside, I think I agree with you. Grappling is a really cool way of getting positive physical contact, with well defined boundaries, while learning a skill and getting healthier. Classes are also a social activity and a way to make friends.

Plus you learn how to do a good blood choke…which is a useful skill.

  • I can't really say about BJJ - I did karate for 7 years and keeping distance is one of the basic strategies. Oss! 🤜 🤛

Sure, but so is bowing, shaking hands, embraces after classes, pats in the back, etc.

  • Omg! This title totally made me snort!

I so wanted to learn a martial art! I think the one I went for was Jiu Jitsu but I had to withdraw after three classes because I couldn't figure out how to fall. Lol ~ So embarrassing!!

@quixotic_life that sounds like judo, though there is some falling in bjj.

It takes practise, if you really want to learn, dont get discouraged and keep at it!
