Have you taken the Briggs personality test 📚?

edited July 2021 in General

Or better known as the 16 personality test? Link - https://www.16personalities.com/ were you surprised at the results , does it matches up with exactly who you are as a person or the way others view you? I think this would be great for the cuddling community 🌌

  • I’ve always hovered between INFJ and INFP, which I feel like is very fitting for me

  • Same as a year ago... and still accurate!

  • INFP as well, I took the time to read every single thing & I agree with it all … what’s really surprising is that we’re only 4% of the entire population … it would be really cool if our profiles has the option to fill in our personality types for those who follow or know about it, I will go ahead & update my profile to show it now.

  • INFJ.

I test somewhere in the 40% for extrovert but that's been more of a trained skill than a personality trait.

I have the ability to simply pretend to be another type when necessary. They say the INF's are so rare because we're hard to pin down as we masquerade as another type

I took it once and felt the need to buy a packet of tomato seeds…

    Weird, right?

  • @Big_Chris lol that’s pretty cool

Haven't we all taken this test at some point? Though it's been a while since I did, and these things can change. Maybe I should run through it again real quick, see if I'm still so evenly balanced between INTJ and INTP that moving a single point one step up or down switches me back and forth.

Well, hey. Looks like I'm more INTJ than INTP these days. In fact, I'm almost ISTJ (but not quite). Interesting.

    The suffix hasn't changed, though—I'm always A.

As far as accuracy goes... well, I think it's a good description of me. But of course I do. It's a self-report inventory: I'm basically just describing myself as I think I am by taking this test. Whether or not I have enough self-awareness for my description to be accurate is a different question.

  • @DarrenWalker I can't seem to separate the questions from the weighted results. I don't see "yes I prefer crowds", I see "yes I do think I'm 20% extroverted on this question.

It's absolutely all self inventory, and this can be difficult for any type. I find that it's more of a tool to understand people, not so much a box to put people in. I think that a binary distinction repeated four times over isn't the best to show someone their "personality", but it can show you how you see yourself and others in certain situations.

  • I have taken it, yes. Turns out I'm a Gemini.

  • OMG! @cuddles_ndream ~ I just rabbit holed for over two hours on this!! 😂

And @CharlesThePoet ~ Quite a bit of that time was me trying to figure out which personality type would be most likely to, "need to buy a packet of tomato seeds…"
"Weird, right?" ~ Yes, very! 🤣

    Check out Isabella Meyers Brigg’s other not so famous work;

    “Give me Death”

This is a long read but worth it and may change your mind about taking a test that we already know the answers .

  • Yes, I am ENFJ.

That’s what I am today, who knows tomorrow?

    @quixotic_life

I was making a quip about Mrs Briggs having the equivalent of a Bachelors Degree in agriculture.

Her daughter, Myers, had no formal education at all, having been homeschooled.

The Briggs-Myers “test” is looked upon in professional psychology circles as being part choose-your-own-adventure and fortune cookie.

It’s a fun conversation starter, much like astrology, and almost as grounded in critical thinking and verifiable fact.

Nothing wrong with that, as long as you know it.

I’m an ambivert INTJ at the root of who I am. That’s been my most consistent result ever since the first time I took the test in highschool. Sometimes I test as ISFP or INFP depending on what season of my life I’m going through. I don’t know a thing about the suffix aspect though, I haven’t done too much reading on Myers-Briggs, but I know it’s essentially pseudo psychology. Still fun to take though. Here’s the result I got today:

I waffle between ENTJ (Commander) and ENFJ (Protagonist) when completing the test at different times in my life/mood.

  • ENTJ here......

This is such an interesting thread..... @DarrenWalker as always... an interesting portrayal/perspective!! So so so true..... Do we KNOW ourselves in a different manner throughout the course of our lives? Did society define us along the way to be more one type than the other?

As far as accuracy goes... well, I think it's a good description of me. But of course I do. It's a self-report inventory: I'm basically just describing myself as I think I am by taking this test. Whether or not I have enough self-awareness for my description to be accurate is a different question.

The book that I LOVED..... truly changed my life about personality types in general was "Please Understand Me" Keirsey/Bates. It took the MBTI and set in motion a process that helps you understand others and how they perceive things so we can all have an easier chance to relate/understand each other.

All of these responses..... LOTS of intuitives...... I wonder if this thread just draws those of a somewhat similar personality type/mindset or if it really is indicative of who is drawn to CC.

@quixotic_life of course you are an NF 😍🥰💗😊😘

  • INFJ-A …
