  • I need a multiple selection option! I can't pick one.
(the escape from every day life, making extra $, building friendships, and helping others all fit)

  • @desi_babe i love your answer

  • I’m curious to see how this poll turns out. I picked 5 which seemed to me what this site was about years ago. Nothing at all wrong with choosing number 1 but I wonder if that will pan out as leading. It seems the forums are really the dominant force here now To me it seems chatting on forums has become more relevant than actually meeting people. Obviously my definition of building relationships and friendships means actually meeting the person. I understand that people have different definitions of that now and online relationships are perfectly the norm now.

  • @OhioMike you’re such a standup person , your presence here on cc is really appreciated! 🌌

So far the polls all show 20% except for 1 which is currently at zero … I’m also curious how the polls turn out, I always try to add the poll because I feel people will be more honest in them because of the anonymous nature , than if they were to say how they feel in the comments, & feel they have to give a politically correct answer which doesn’t necessarily align with their truths … so yes lol very curious as well.

  • Totally agree with @desi_babe here. There is not one reason to be here (even for enthusiasts). Multi-select options required.
Good thread by the way @cuddles_ndream

  • @cuddlyBear10 ty soo much!! 🌌
A multi selection option would be soo great & ideal, I always try to add an “other” selection & forgot to this time around, thanks again!

  • Omgosh @OhioMike I 100% agree. I absolutely adore the relationships/friendships/connections we get to have here and some that span quite a few years! Of COURSE cuddling has a high priority.... ahem.... HELLO!!! But even if we can't cuddle with them right away we can build some connections along the way with people who look to cuddling for some of the same reasons.

I do think the forums became MORE of an added bonus (because of the pandemic which shall not be named) when it wasn't as to meet people in person.

I def agree with @desi_babe though it is TOUGH to pick the number one hope.

I mostly hang out for the forum.. If I happen to find a cuddle buddy while on CC then that's cool, but I don't worry about that much.

  • I 2nd that @JasonCuddles … I probably should’ve been a bit more specific with the title of this thread & ask “what keeps you coming back to cc. what’s priority to one person is not priority to the next, & the poll results seem to support that thus far.

  • @cuddles_ndream ready for my answer??🤪 I love to complicate your life😘

@desi_babe from one desi girl to another
    We are always right!!! 🤩
@OhioMike what you said is true! But when we cannot find a good human close to us this way at least we cam make some friends have a fun conversation and hope to meet each other on future travels.
    @sillysassy you are a true rockstar I adore you🫂

  • Dang! If "money" were replaced with "shared snacking on indulgent delectables" I'd for sure wish there were an, "all of the above" option... 😉

As it is though, I'm torn so not voting just yet...

    Yes.

  • @pmvines ~ gasping... omg... can't catch my breath!!!
    Lmao 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 ~ 🤗🥰 You!!

  • I’m always ready 🤪And lol 😂 all amazing answers!! 🥰

  • Hey @cuddles_ndream was looking at the poll so far. What do you think? #2 the obvious choice in front. My vote #5 tied for second with #1 which I thought might win big! :)

  • @OhioMike lol I really thought #5 would come out on top / & I realized I should have included an -all the above- optio, & I wish we’re able to pick multiple choices as well …. I think this was a good breakdown / results 😄

  • @cuddles_ndream , I agree it was a good breakdown. Keep up the good work! :)

  • Cuddling is a therapeutic activity for me. I’ve dealt with tension headaches for most of my life, and tried PT, yoga, meditation, accupuncture and muscle relaxers-none have provided much relief. I started sessions in April, and by early last month, my headaches are all but gone.

I’ve been fortunate to meet several great cuddlists, and the experiences have been pure “zen.” The sessions truly put my mind “in the moment, and time stands still.

This site has some wonderful therapists, who are great at what they do.

  • I discovered CC in January 2020. I was looking to expand my universe of cuddle therapists: I was a repeat customer of Nordic Cudde (which is greatly missed) and wanted to broaden my horizons. At that time I was unaware of enthusiast cuddling. The site design was slightly different and I didn't even notice that there was a forum.

In November I returned, driven by the imposition of a new lockdown. Nordic Cuddle was not able to operate, but I found some professional cuddlers who were less strict. I also noticed the forum, and was utterly horrified by what I found. The level of misogyny was entirely beyond my ken, while the entitlement was something I'd only read about. Over the years I've had a lot to do with America and Americas, and I've loved every minute of it. However, my experience has been predominently of the 'coastal' or 'international' American. The dark heart of the place, as represented for example by the baddies in the film 'Mississippi Burning', was something I'd only encountered in, well, films. Until now.

I wasn't shocked that such attitudes to women existed, I was well aware of that. What did shock me was that they were on public display, without shame. There was no shortage of men on the forum at that time who clearly regarded a woman's place as being a subservient whore. (This is the origin of the proscription against complaining against professionals' rates: there was a class of men who were genuinely and seriously offended that they had to pay more than they wanted to grope a woman in 'platonic' circumstances which meant their wife had no ground for complaint.)

At first I couldn't understand why the intelligent, educated and very determined women here put up with it. And then I realised that there were very few of them, and that at the slightest hint of insurrection the misogynists smashed them down with a torrent of abuse which sneakily stayed just the right line of the forum rules. The abusers had a good line in provocation, which sometimes forced the mods into warning the abusee for straying over the line.

This was all very new to me, and I thought I'm not fucking having this. So I weighed in. In retrospect it caused some surprise to the misogynists at first, but once they worked out what was happening they came after me in spades. There was a concerted effort to get me banned, and even the occasional abusive PM. I'm more sensitive than I look, and some of that stuff was quite hard to deal with.

Around that time a woman called @Importance turned up. She was sick to death of being ignored, maltreated and abused by men and went head to head with the misogynists. In the end she was banned, having left the mods with no alternative. But it helped me to have an ally.

Meanwhile, by coincidence, another new user turned up. I've now forgotten his name, and he was also banned in the end for reasons I never knew. His talent was in creating new threads, and digging up ancient ones. They tended to be on lighthearted topics, and this attracted new, female, blood onto the forum. They commented on this threads: being new, they didn't fully understand that their role was to be used, and that their opinions were not welcome. This caused consternation amongst the misogynists, and they tried to get the thread-starter shut down. They didn't succeed, but he was greatly hurt by the process.

Meanwhile, my campaign continued. A basic tactic of the misogynts was to assert nonsense as fact. And when I pointed out that it was nonsense, the inevitable happened: they began to vanish.

As I'm sure you know, bullies are cowards. They always have a glass jaw. They love dishing it out, but that can't take it. At first, they would just take a few days off the forum. But then they discovered that when they came back and tried to propagate their poison, I was still there. More than once a bully took a few days off, came back overnight my time, and then disappeared again because they crashed headlong into my catchphrase of the time, 'No it isn't. That's simply not true.'

It was all very bruising. I had to take a day or two off a number of times. I was sustained by the beauty and strength of a number of forum contributors, almost all women. And by the many women who, I now realised, had been bullied, oppressed and abused all their lives and were suddenly seeing that the world could be different.

And then, one day, I realised I hadn't seen any misogyny for a week. And then, one day, there was a misogynistic post and a woman took on the offender.... and won. And then, one day, the misogynists just weren't here any more.

They are all gone now. Occasionally one pops in but it's been a while now. We get new ones of course, but they never last more than a day or so before getting shot to pieces. One or two of the original misogynists are still here, but they are different people, or at least behave in a different way. Other sides of their character - which were always there, and were always valuable - now dominate their forum persona.

I'm losing interest in the forum now. I still look in several times a day, but mostly I can't be bothered to post: there is no higher point to it. The whole tone of the place is completely differerent - far more women, far less angry and abuse. Much more like it.

Things have been equally successful for me on the main part of the site. I met a number of wonderful professionals who got me through lockdown in one piece. I found first one, and then several cuddle buddies. One of them came on holiday with me recently, and you can't ask for a bigger success than that.

@CuddleDuncan Woah! It's so funny, I've noticed the exact same peaks, valleys and turning points of that kind of crap on the forums during my time here. Thanks for all your help over the months! I've always appreciated it when you stood up for women in the forums; Male allies are invaluable for tackling this nonsense. I'm sorry to hear that you're thinking of taking a break, but I also understand. Keep in touch, I still want to make sure we meet up one day! :)

  • @CuddleDuncan Sometimes a nice break is needed (in any circumstances), your input will be greatly missed here 🙂

  • @TheNewNovelist I’m really happy for you, cuddling genuinely does brings soo much value & im glad there are many who seek & look to offer this amazing escape 😄

  • Wow the pole has had a surge of voters! That's great news. I to have noticed , especially when I check out for awhile, that the bullying has decreased here on the forums. I do hope it continues in that direction. :)

  • @OhioMike ‘a chance at cuddling’ now has almost 50% of the votes (previously sitting at 3rd place 😄) & yes I agree! The forum / threads have been such a breath of fresh air lately 😃 hoping for the same ☺️

  • @CuddleDuncan You’re becoming one of my favourites, so I’ll miss your posts but I’m really happy you’re taking time for you.

As for what draws me to CC, well, I’m a pro cuddler. But more than that, at the root I’m an enthusiast. I don’t get many requests that turn out on here. So the thing that keeps me coming back are the topics on the forums, and the people.

  • I used to come here for the forums and a chance at cuddling. Now it's 99% achance at cuddling due to previous experiences here.

  • Depression and loneliness.
