Also, fun fact, our teeth and jaw bones are really cool. You can send vibrations into the teeth which go directly to your inner ear, which your brain interprets as sound.
More fun facts about teeth:
Teeth, skin, and the nervous system are intimately linked.
When we start out as a fertilized egg we’re a mass of undifferentiated cells. At a point, it starts dividing into three layers. The mesoderm becomes the muscles, bones, and connective tissues, the endoderm becomes the internal organs, and the ectoderm becomes the skin, the nervous system, and the teeth.
That being said, if someone asked me to touch their teeth during a cuddling session I’d say no. Probably say no to the other stuff, too. I’m there for cuddling, not teeth rubbing or Braille flattening.
@Andy1996
Scratching out braille is harmless
Then why are we here having this discussion? If you feels it's harmless and not sexual why are you raising the question to it's platonic nature?
I know 99% of pros have been happy to oblige to, you've made this very clear, so there's no need to rehash the percentages.
If you want to discuss unique ways you cuddle start a discussion on it without some strange underlying reason as to why you're raising the discussion. There's no harm in starting dialogue here, it's just strange that you're asking about the Innocence of these preferences when you already know the answer.
I have the feeling a question about popping balloons is coming soon 😂
Just cjus its platmoc doesn't mean someone wants to do that
@frogtide 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm going to agree with what @Envie and @MCcuddles2 are saying here. You claim you know what platonic means, and that you recognize these activities are platonic, and further that many cuddlers have been okay with these strange (but platonic) activities. So why are we having this discussion?
I'd recommend making these requests on an individual basis. If someone consents to doing these other platonic activities with you during a session, great. But really, this site is primarily for platonic cuddling, and the forums should reflect this.
My sense is that you came to the cuddle community looking for occupational and sensory therapy for the blind that maybe you have received elsewhere but you’re no longer receiving there. I understand you want to hold and be held, which are more typical cuddling activities, but I get the sense that you also want other things done for you or to you that you’ve experienced in blind educational or therapeutic environments. Am I at all correct in guessing this?
I Googled 'sensory stimulation for the blind' and found this article among others: Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration for Visual Impairment. If you do a “find on page” search for the heading “Sensory Integration and Sensory Motor Activities,” there are activities listed that are similar to what you have said you’re looking for in the questions you’ve posted in this forum.
While the kinds of touch and activities you are looking for are “platonic,” they are highly specialized activities that most cuddlers have probably never done with a client. Some of them might strike one as things you could do for yourself or to yourself, such as scratching your hands, rubbing your teeth, or scratching out Braille dots, and people may wonder why you want to have them do it for/to you instead of doing it yourself. Nevertheless, it’s understandable that you might want to experience those kinds of tactile and auditory stimuli passively without the kinesthetic and tactile stimuli of using your own hands to create those stimuli (e.g., you might want to feel a finger on your teeth without feeling your teeth under your finger).
I know that you’re under no obligation to explain yourself, but it might put people at ease or help them understand why you want them to do these things if you share with them a little bit about your experience as a blind person.
What do you think of my suggestion?
Okay, if anyone comes forward now and says they find popping balloons relaxing, then I think the CC forums have officially seen it all.
Strange request and seems more so outside of the perimeters that have been set for cuddle comfort. I personally wouldn't do this in a live session. But a virtual session? Sure, I'm all for it!
Wondering if there are any cuddle therapists on this website.
What makes you wonder that?
I said yes to this activity and you cancelled our session, I'm still unclear about that. Unless you wanted endless back and forth messages in the six weeks leading up to the session which is not part of the deal. I'm happy to answer any questions but that doesn't mean we are checking in on each other every day because we have a session booked in the future. I'm reasonable and accommodating but the free emotional labor was a bit much.
& the plot thickens.
@squeakytoy i love popping bubble wrap 😂😂it’s oddly satisfying and relaxing. https://images.app.goo.gl/3s8gkhz1WuMUR1gm7
@Melomaniac9 I like popping popcorn 🍿 because its buttery 😶🌫️
Extra butter or movie butter @cuddles_ndream
Always movie butter @Melomaniac9
Squirting butter on popcorn at movie theatres was my pre covid guilty pleasure
@cuddles_ndream
how do I put a gif in here?
@MCcuddles2
I miss going to the movies the most
@Andy1996 You should really take to heart what @nurturingman said, he’s being very understanding. You need to learn what platonic means and also consent. And seek a professional therapist who can help you, before continuing with cuddle therapy. Sending good energy to you.
@MCcuddles2 Yup!!! One of my favorite escapes ever is the movie theaters 🎥 I even have my favorite movie theater to go to lol, sometime I would literally go for the nice comfy leather reclining seats / popcorn / soda 🥤 & just spontaneously choose any movie thats playing at the time lol
@Melomaniac9 … I kinda forgot, I feel like I got lucky right now, @DarrenWalker taught me how to easily do it sometime last year , but I was able to do it now with giphy after several tries 🤦♂️ lol
@Mare_Bear
This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I'm sorry that was your time wasted with a no explanation cancellation after chatting daily. Giving your time and energy to someone is mentally taxing. We are not free therapy. We will be happy to answer questions and to put you at ease with our individual services but don't pull this no explanation cancellation nonsense especially after we've spent unpaid time chatting you up for days/weeks.
There's zero excuse for this behavior. 😐
@squeakytoy
@pmvines he should at least wear safety goggles? Especially if he's gonna do that more regularly.
Him: "I guess all balloons deserve to die" Sounds like he hasn't met non poppers.
@nurturingman ~ (adding on to my PM to you...) I ♡'d your post!!!
And seriously, some of you other Pros are the kippers knickers!!! ~ (Like @cuddler5617 ~ see his post above)
~ Thankfully, many here do!!! ♡♡♡
Thanks, @Envie !
Never heard of it!!!!!!!
@Andy1996 … I’m sorry, what?
I am so confused by this entire post.
I can’t decide whether this thread is amusing, or confusing.
