Small gestures of kindness

One of my favorite ways to show someone I care about them is with a small gift that tells that person I’ve been listening when they’ve been open and vulnerable. I tend to have the memory of an elephant and try to remember as many little tidbits as possible when someone is being open with me.

It’s not something I’d say I go out of my way to do. It’s always been effortless on my end to be there in a way that makes the other person feel seen. There’s no better feeling than seeing the look of joy and happiness on someone’s face when they realize you took the time to think of them. Or that you remembered something about them.

Something as small as flowers you picked out, a package of their favorite juice, coke from McDonald’s, or as simple as grabbing a couple candy bars they enjoy . Little acts have big impacts.

This week, I had a friend go on a trip for an unfortunate circumstance, & came back with a gift for me. Little gestures really mean the world to some- including me!

✨I would love to know the last time someone did something simple for you that was unexpected or when the last time you did something nice for someone else!

Sending hugs that you’re all having a great week

Just last night, my family and I went out to eat and when it was time to get the bill, we were told someone (who had already left, so we couldn't thank them) had paid our bill. We left a generous tip, which we always do anyway, especially now when businesses are hurting for staff and those who are working, are working so hard.

The last nice thing I did for someone else was volunteered on a site called Lasagna Love and delivered my homemade lasagnas to a couple of families who signed up to receive. There's a food theme here... Pretty sure food is my love language.

I hope you have a great week too!

That is so wonderful that someone took care of your families meal- & kind that you guys left such a generous tip!

The food theme is amazing! There’s a reason people say the quickest way to someone’s heart is through their stomach. I do believe that is true in this story as well!

You have a heart of gold ♥️ this post is Life 🌌

2 weeks ago my best friend in the 🌎 was telling me how the woman in her family are actually more handy than the guys, that they are the ones to do home projects / fix furnitures / set up projects & all… & how much they enjoy it … I told her she would know more than me about a tool box 😅 she replied “I wish I had one” … our birthdays is one day apart, I went out of my way with 3 days notice to get her this for her birthday ☺️

  • @cuddles_ndream look at that- that’s a gift that’ll keep giving & remind her of your support that she can handle things and take care of her own home like a boss!! That’s honestly such a beautiful gesture on your part!

@cuddles_ndream Making wishes come true. Love that. I wish people would come out and say what they want more often. I really do listen, but find it so hard shopping for people for like Christmas. I'm a terrible gift giver unless someone's a diehard fan of something and they collect all the things.

  • I love this. My “giving” love language is acts of service – one of my favorite qualities about myself is my ability to listen actively and deeply, and doing little acts like this is so satisfying to me.

Recently one of my roommates put out an EP and has been putting in long hours at work in hopes of getting a promotion, so I made a batch of cupcakes with a little note congratulating him on his hard work. He was surprised and touched. It felt amazing. 😊

@b0nfire Foood. That was sweet. And very sweet of you.

  • Being present is so much in any acts of kindness..whether it be listening to someone or just the act of acknowledging someone (known or a stranger) with a smile/hello. None of those are physical gifts but makes a world of difference…love the act of paying it forward and the possibilities that open up. Great topic and something we need more of these days.

  • I recently brought a brown paper bag with me to a cuddle session and gave it to my cuddle partner to put over my head. I wiped away her tears of joy during the session, but the bag still got wet.

  • Thank you so much @bellebeauty & @MaineCuddle 🌌 ♥️

@b0nfire The way you just described yourself “Love language” - act of service is is me to the T, I always want to do, share a knowledge, “put people on” make myself available … it is how I saw m my mom growing up & I take this from her ☺️ 🌌 ♥️

@blisscuddles Absolutely right! It doesn’t have to be anything material in the slightest … listening / acknowledgment/ being there for sometime / sharing kindness is the ultimate 🌌 🙌🏼

  • @FunCartel - That brown paper bag idea is really sweet of you. I too like to cover my ugliness for the sake of bringing joy to others.

Sad to hear that it got wet though. :( Hopefully you can reuse parts of it and don’t have to go out spending boatloads on another paper bag; Prices sure are rising these days.

@FunCartel reminded me of an old American show from the 70s .

  • @MaineCuddle I go back a long ways!

  • One of my cuddle partners took me out to lunch recently. 😊

  • I love random acts of kindness and try to do them every week. It makes me feel good and I hope it brings joy to others!

I make painted rocks and give them to waitresses or leave them where they will be found and hopefully bring a smile to someone’s day.

I had a neighbor write a sweet message on my front porch with sidewalk chalk last week and it made my day :)
