Reported. Reviewed. Removed content completely. @Hi_Im_Tim - check your messages from me. [-Sideon]
Disappointed but understood. Thank you -Sideon.
Two great choices. Didnโt see anything where people could weigh in before on the nomination process though.
@TheMidnightOwl , Sideon had posted a thread seeking nominations a couple weeks back. He stickied it and people could nominate thru admin directly so it could be anonymous so to speak You couldnโt nominate yourself but you could have someone nominate you if you wanted. I hope that all makes sense ๐. I just checked itโs still there called moderator nominations from august 13th
@TheMidnightOwl history teaches us that public discussion of moderator selection is unhelpful or disastrous. The biggest problem is that it puts off the best candidates because it involves discussing their faults and inadequacies, and nobody wants their weak points aired in public. It's also party time for those who dislike the candidates, or are simply negative vibe merchants.
Remember that anybody who actively wants to be a moderator isn't suitable, and therefore the people you want are, at best, on the fence. It doesn't take much to push them off on the wrong side.
@CuddleDuncan Perhaps read the words in front of you. @midnightowl was not asking about how the mods were selected she merely said she missed the original solicitation for nominations.
FWIW, the people I wanted are not on the fence because they are moderators.
@TheMidnightOwl - here is the nomination thread that I posted.
@Sideon hope all is well with the โMod Squadโ. Any cool ๐ nicknames you mods come up with yet? ๐ค
@OhioMike - I am partial to Mod Squad so far I'm going with "Bab" and "Charles"... because that's who they are They haven't given me a nickname yet that I know of, or haven't muttered one under their breath. Yet. All in good time.
If I can have any input I would prefer โBabiโ (pronounced more like Bobby than Baby) as itโs what I use myself and was my childhood nickname.
Babi it is then, @Babichev !
Awesome news, congratulations and thank you in advance for all your work @Babichev and @CharlesThePoet ๐ค๐ค๐ค
Congratulations @Babichev & @CharlesThePoet ๐คฉ
Thanks you two.
Congratulations @Babichev ...nice to see STL represented
Congrats!!!!! ๐
Congratulations
@uxecud , thank you and welcome! Nice to connect with someone close to home!
Congrats!
Also, is there like a list somewhere of all the moderators we have and who is responsible for what if they have different responsibilities? I know other forums have staff members in different colored usernames so it is clear they are staff and color let's you know level of responsibilities without having to click on their profiles to see. Just wondering since I think I have seen 4 staff members here recently but feel there is like 6 or so unless I am wrong idk.
@Mark and @Gary are the site Admins.
@Sideon, @Babichev, and @CharlesThePoet are the Moderator team.
They have been given complete freedom in their roles.
They will moderate with the principles of maintaining the welcoming and peaceful environment here, acting with equality between the three member types (enthusiast, client, pro), and finally encouraging openness and respect.
