Limmericks are hard for my wee little mind. I am more Seussian When rhyming I find.
Roses are red Violets are blue Poems are hard Bacon.
I like my bacon crispy, not poems hard.
I enjoy a good rhyme that is snappy And the sound of a limerick is happy Not unlike Dr. Seuss Who put meter to use Making reading for some way less crappy
This thread had asked for some literacy And if stealing this thread seems like piracy With A rhyme and a heart Are a good place to start Don't despair pretentious British snobbery
No one on here is quite like Shakespeare Whose plays have bent many an ear And if it's your thought Whether he wrote them or not The fact is they're there and it's clear.
I can appreciate Dr. Seuss Who made word-smithing of use Hop on pop 'til you drop And a sock-wearing fox "Oh, the places you'll go" inspires, too.
If it's a challenge you want and you're on it Try writing a really good sonnet Iambic pentameter And other parameters Might stop the ink flow in a moment
Dr Seuss can give rise to the prize Of reading the rest of our lives Epiphanian Pragmatics Or Newtonian Mathematics Are high works that open our eyes
Now that this poem is boring And most are by now really snoring I'll sign off for laugh At a really good gaffe Can't make something else rhyme with "ooring."

I've seen this so many times I've lost count, and won't even read the other posts. Likely someone's already misread your post and accused you of things you didn't say or do, and there's arguments about it or things others haven't done or said 😆
I sometimes like reading the forum posts but they're often dumpster fires so I don't often like posting though I do like stoking interesting ideas, poking the status quo, or bombing bad behavior.
I just came across this quote, which was originally in a dictionary, of all places:
DICTIONARY, n. A malevolent literary device for cramping the growth of a language and making it hard and inelastic.
I sympathize with this sentiment.
