Sometimes I find it odd that I’m in a room full of people and I feel so alone.
.People sometimes give people they meet a label and one of the first questions they ask is so what do you do for a living. Let’s say someone says oh OK I drive recycling truck. Or I am a paramedic, or a doctor. They develop an instant opinion of you by what you do for a living not by who you are
That’s why I’m usually vague about my livelihood when I first meet someone. “I’m in healthcare.” If they ask more I tell them I prefer not to talk about my work until I know them better and then shift the focus onto them, ask them questions about themselves.
