Shout Out To Animal Friends

The touch of another human being is powerful and nothing can ever replace it. However I want to give a shout out to all the animal friends in my life. Whenever I'm down my animals have always been there for me.

Now that I'm living on my own I'm starting to realize how great having a cat/dog/etc is. Unfortunately my apartment lease does not allow for pets.

Back when I lived with my parents, I loved how my cat Daisy would curl up on my lap and purr, while I pet her. Also when my dog Quentin would lie down next to me while I pet him. It put me at ease.

I also remember being with a professional cuddler and her cat would lie in the bed with us.

Has anyone ever felt similar experiences?

It seems like more than half the cuddlers I met had cats. Not sure why cats are so popular
But one pro cuddler I saw took her cat who kept jumping on the bed and threw him into the bathroom and locked him in there. I was kind of shocked at that, I felt so bad for the cat.

@Green_Eyes is that a calico cat? I used to have one named Patches. She was a fat cat and I used to nickname her fatteh catteh. She was very cuddle-friendly when she wanted to be.

It was one year ago yesterday that my sweet Bambina came to live with me. She’s been absolutely delightful. She’s unusually cuddly for a rabbit. Almost every night we sit on the bed and cuddle. She’s made the isolation of the pandemic a lot more bearable.

@Odinson87 Haldi is a Whipador (whippet/lab mix). She is such a people dog, though not as keen to be around other dogs. What was Bruin like? Love the rabbit song! What a refreshing way to start the day!

The only pets I currently have are two African dwarf frogs named Beavis and Butthead.

@MCcuddles2 simple, I grew up watching Beavis and Butt-Head and sometimes watch a lot of reruns of it.

Amen to the fur baby shoutout! I wouldn't be who I am without all the animals I've had in my life ❤️
I was a vet tech for 13 years, and have been pet sitting on the side for 15+! I'm also studying animal massage and reiki 😸 Any others that work with animals here?

And no offense to anyone, but my old man cat Big Head is the best cuddler I've ever met 😻❤️

My 2 cuddle bugs.
Spring (cockapoo) is the most loving cuddler and will take any attention you give her but Nina (spaniel) is never satisfied with the pets. You gotta give just the right pressure in the right spot, but not. For. Too. Long! Make sure to caress her whole little body or she will let you know “you’re doing it wrong.”

What a bunch of cuties! My dogs are too jealous to share a cuddle together with me, they want me all for themselves but don't like to share me with each other.

@Babichev lucky you! I babysat a bunny for a month last year and it was the greatest feeling ever, the little guy fell in love with me. I sat with him every day and he would jump on me and nudge my hand asking for pets.

I think it was Winnie the Pooh who said, “Sometimes I sit and think and sometimes I just sit.”

Right now we’re hanging out on the bed and she is sitting by my feet staring into the distance.

@Gabriel2k - Aw, that is so sweet. Not all rabbits will do that. Some like you to pet them but they want their feet to stay on the floor. Yes, my Bambina does that, too, nudges my hand. “Pet me!” Last night I was petting her and removed my hand for a moment to type. She thumped her foot at me. “Don’t you dare stop!”

Thinking of rabbits - and this is a shout out to my sweet girl Bambina - dogs and cats are predators; rabbits are prey. They are naturally skittish. It’s a huge sign of trust when they allow us, huge predators that we are - to hang out with them. They are making themselves very vulnerable. When she falls asleep on my lap I feel a deep sense of awe that this small creature feels that at ease that she will sleep in my arms.

I got a bit of some different hay. I put it in a bowl for her. I assumed that, like most critters, she would sit on the floor and lean her head into the bowl to eat. Oh no, I was wrong. She likes to sit in the bowl and eat from there.
