To all pro cuddlers - there may be a new scam creeping into our little corner of the world. I recognize it because I’ve encountered it as a landlady and as a massage therapist and a friend encountered it after placing an ad for a roommate.
Individuals from two separate accounts booked lengthy sessions with two different pros, sessions that would have been a couple thousand dollars, and said they would pay with a check. It should go without saying that one should not accept checks for large amounts of money from strangers. What is the scam? What has happened in other situations is that they provide a cashier’s check for more than the amount owed. They concoct some reason why they overpay and then ask for a refund for the overpayment. By the time you find out their check is counterfeit, they are gone with your money. This scam is also done with credit card payments.
