My mother passed away about 5 years ago. This day always brings up conflicting thoughts for me…she did the best she could I think but was deeply flawed. She had many fears, prejudices and worries that had a profound negative impact on my childhood. I find even 50 years later I struggle to erase the tapes she placed in my head that I still can hear played back to me. I stumbled across this simple quote just now that hit me like a thunderbolt.
