Kindness and compassion

One of the biggest things I've learned from this community is that genuine care, connection and affection can be shown in so many ways.

A few of us were sitting in a small circle talking on Saturday when my coworker texted me with an issue that was rather distressing to him. It wasn't huge in the scope of life, but it bothered him and he knows I will listen and do what I can.

I am happy to report I recovered all the items he lost and when I sent him the picture he thanked me in not so many words for not dismissing his stress and actually giving a damn.

  • So are you fellow coneheads?

  • πŸ‘πŸ» you’re a true friend & he will forever be grateful 🌌

@FunCartel we are! He managed to throw together some spares but he did not like them as well.

(they fell off the work truck)πŸ₯΄

    Those are hard to lose.

  • While driving to far destinations
    I feel some impatient frustrations,
    When great herds of cones
    In slow-moving zones
    Engage in their orange migrations.

@cuddles_ndream he can be kind of a prickly personality guy but he seems to work well with me much to the amazement of the office managers.

@Btown they are! They where spread out over about a half mile on the shoulder of the interstate.

@JoyfulHeart only you can make driving through a work zone seem soothing. Thanks for the rhyme!

  • @KYtransplant it's awesome that you could recover them for your friend, but I am sure the care and kindness you showed him is what he would never lose again!

@Btown My personal trainer friend had several stolen from him over the years. He put them in the yard for agility training and someone would come nab them while he was in between sessions. I know because I showed up for a session once and we had to do an alternative to my favorite exercise. Apparently they are hard to lose, but not so hard to steal :-(

Hmm, makes one wonder who would have the motivation to scatter them that way.

  • Some person that needs a tobacco crop to raise. That's what some of us say in the South.

  • Ah yay ~ Congrats on the recovery!! I loved hearing about the relationship you two have.

    You're really good people!! πŸ€—

  • @quixotic_life Good to see you up and aware. Get well soon.

  • @FunCartel ~ Thank you πŸ€—
Gotta say, that made me chuckle though because I'm full horizontal, only one eye open, typing everything with my thumb and multiple times have passed out while trying to respond to someone today.

  • A great find, if that happened in Florida, in 10 minutes they all would be gone and 20 minutes later they would be at a local pawn shop, LOL. Glad you found them

  • @KYtransplant Great post and very well said πŸ’œ

    @KYtransplant
That was a really caring thing to do. I hope your co-worker was appreciative.
