So when you are not cuddling (or when you are, which would seriously be impressive,) what card/board games do you like to play? Also, if your favorite game is Munchkin, I’m curious what life is like now that none of your family or friends will speak with you 😅

    Terraforming Mars is my favorite when I have the time (and I am a care bear player, so no cutt throat being mean just to be mean people). Other than that, I play lots of different games, less of a predominant favorite, but I have over 100 games. In general, my classifier is I like games that are fun even when you're not winning (so star realms is not fun when you're losing, habitats is, for example).

    I reeeeally wanna play Terraforming Mars! I remember there being a sale on Amazon and I was getting one game and it was between that and Scythe, and I chose Scythe (which I love!) But I think TM will be the next game I get. I just hope the rules are not overwhelming to learn. I am stuck having never been able to get a game of Wingspan started because of that 😅

    Chess is indeed one of the greatest games of all time. (Or really, like you said, it is hands down.) I love to play it casually, but I stand no chance against anyone with skill. I remember every time I would visit my grandpa, he would challenge me to a game (as he did with all us grandkids) and I did eventually beat him once. I think he was shook, like he took the game seriously and didn’t expect to actually lose LOL

    @Charlie_Bear Terraforming Mars is pretty deep in the rules. One of the few heavy games we play often enough that I don't really need to look at the rules to pay. 😇 I'm not as big of a fan of Wingspan as the rest of the world, lol (or Azul), so I would say Terraforming Mars is more worth the effort, but I'm definitely biased. 😆 As is the case with many euro games, having a teacher is definitely a bonus. 😇 Or watch the rahdo runs through it video of the game? 😁

    I have to tell you.... there have been some SERIOUSLY fun card/board games played AMONGST cuddling! We had a fun get together and it helped peeps get to know each other when they were a bit nervous about cuddles.

    QUIRKLE!!!! and some crazy intense Kittens in the Blender type game which got strangely competitive.
    (hahaahahaha ahem @quixotic_life ahem... cough cough.... not naming names.... ahem cough cough.)

    I tried Wingspan on PC and even having it guide me, I was still missing something when trying to comprehend the game so I haven’t been able to complete a game. I am hoping Terraforming Mars is more like Scythe where it looks massive and confusing but is actually quite simple.

    Haha tbh playing a board game to break the ice before cuddling sounds awesome. I was joking in my original post but I didn’t even think of that. I haven’t played Quirkle but I will check it out!     I'm so old school, I still enjoy Monopoly or Scrabble with a good old 8-track or a 45 on my 1959 Jukebox playing in the back ground. I once did a 12 hour marathon of Monopoly.

    My pops loves Scythe and I have enjoyed it for the most part.
    I'd say terraforming mars is similar to it and great as well

    Wingspan was pretty fun too. Another of my dad's top games he likes bringing to meetups.

    Calling you out on your lies, games of Monopoly never lasted more than an hour without the table getting flipped and losing peices.
    Oh...were those just people I played with? My bad.

    @waynewv have you tried any euro games? I'm convinced the only people who think they like Monopoly are people who don't know what's available. 🙈 But in all seriousness, if you truly like it best, I know you can find other Monopoly lovers to play with you. 😇

    @ubergigglefritz , the grandkids come up with some wild games and they are neat. Never heard of the euro games. I feel most newer ones have to much of a learning curve. I really think the older I get the less I like change, lol . I just went from a 1993 Dodge truck to a 2022 Ram/Dodge and what a learning curve but I’m loving it.
    So maybe if I did try some newer ones I might like them. So I’ll try to be more open minded. Like Live Streaming that I just figured out with the new truck, but I think it’s hard to beat the old 45’s, lol

    @waynewv i definitely get that! If I were to pick a game for you, I would just pick a lighter game. Aside from Terraforming Mars, I definitely prefer the games with short rulebooks. 😆 I've gotten more impatient with games that take as long for the teach as to play. 😝 Lol. Terraforming Mars gets a pass because I know it so well I don't need to reread the rulebook every single time. 😂

    @bekah_cuddles I have King of Tokyo and Cards Against Humanity (both great!) I have also played Exploding Kittens and What Do You Meme? Is there any among the rest that you consider your favorite? I’m also gonna check out Throw Throw Burrito cause that just sounds funny 😂

    @waynewv if you want an easy game to play to see which of your grandkids are good at lying, I definitely recommend Avalon. It’s not for everyone though, but for those that enjoy it, it’s usually a favorite.

    @Charlie_Bear Throw Throw Burrito is definitely up there! Kind of a cross between Old Maid and dodgeball, it's one of the most chaotic games I've ever played! Everything's happening all at once and then you throw these cute plush burritos at each other! It's a fun time!

    @entwine lol your comment made me remember a real life version of Jumanji that my brother & I played with his kids. I joked we were about to get sucked into the game, when the deck we were playing with got cheeky & right as the game was almost over the card we drew literally began with "your journey is nearly done..." I could not stop laughing at the coincidence. It's like the game really knew! 😂

    When I was a kid I loved Sorry, Uno, and Hungy Hungry Hippo. I tried playing Hungry Hippo not long ago and about destroyed it, def not meant to withstand grown adults beating on it
