Cuddle Dreams?

So I had a weird dream last night that three women just randomly out of no where started hugging me. It wasn't in a sexual way, we were all fully clothed, it was just a big group hug I happen to be in the middle of. Some how we flipped from standing to laying in bed without actually moving at all like even the hug position hadn't changed just our location and orientation from horizontal to vertical changed. It was really peaceful and comforting for a while till I woke up. :anguished:

There was one moment where for some reason I thought I felt my arm brush up against one of their breasts and even apologized to her for that and she didn't seem to care. I don't know how I "felt" that considering it was in a dream and none of those women were actually there. That's the weirdest part about it is while I was in the dream it felt real.

This is the second time I've had a weird dream like this where I felt someone cuddle me who wasn't actually there. The first time I was kind of half awake and knew I was alone but I felt like someone was in bed with me holding me from behind and I didn't want to move cause I didn't want the feeling to stop and I knew the second I tried to look and see that no one was there the feeling would go away.

Has anyone else ever experienced this before?

  • Good question! I don’t know if I’ve ever had a cuddle dream, now that I think of it. I imagine if I cuddled more people more often I might dream about it, because I tend to dream about repeated actions that are overwhelming, like bussing tables when I first started working in a restaurant (my first ever job), folding and hanging clothes when I first started working at a department store during their peak season (my third ever job), interpreting when I was extremely busy at a seminar with many Deaf participants constantly requiring my services, or seeing flurries of signing hands and expressive faces when I was signing all day everyday during my masters degree colloquium… those are the times my mind was so busy processing constant stimuli that it couldn’t shut down even in sleep. I got to the point when I was interpreting at that seminar that I would tell the people in my dreams who wanted to pull me this way or that way to interpret for them “I’m sleeping right now. This is a dream. You are not really here asking me to work. Whatever you do really need, I’ll do it for you at work tomorrow.”

I totally understand how things morph in a dream and how real they can feel.

I think it’s great that you experienced touching a woman in a way that might be misconstrued and immediately you recognized you had almost crossed a boundary and apologized for it. I have often had dreams in which I did or almost did something “wrong” and woke up feeling very guilty until I realized I was awake and reminded myself it was just a dream, so I hadn’t actually done anything wrong.

  • I have had dreams where I was cuddlin someone new and I was super excited 😄. Unfortunately I'd have to get up to p and when I got back to sleep couldn't get back same person/place as when I left 🙁

  • @craM i could relate to you, for the 1st time ever I dreamt that I was cuddling with someone from the site, but it was no one whose in the forums / threads / or that I talk to, it was someone who comes up in my local search lol that was strange 😂 …. I think it would be really creepy for me to send a message like this , “hey …. I had a dream that I was cuddling you 😶” …. 😂🤣🤣

I think that coming from someone whoms username is @cuddles_ndream would make sense and be flattering.

I tend to have vivid dreams too and know what you mean. Though haven't had any cuddle ones, those sound lovely (or could be stressful if crossing boundaries in them). The only dreams that occur repeatedly for me, is me going to the bathroom on a toilet, in public. And I don't mean in a stall in Walmart bathroom. Like the toilet is randomly in the middle of a restaurant or somewhere like that.

  • @entwine thank you 🌌

And lol @ those vivid random dreams lol 😅 up until junior high I would have the most vivid, even lucid dreams …. Now I barely even dream at all (that or i forget upon waking).

  • My dreaming has been pretty consistent. I was Surprised to learn as an adult that some people just don't dream at all😱!! While others have very vivid dreams and can go on for hours about them. For me, it's the classic I remember it within the 1st 5 to 10 minutes of waking, and then forget later. But sometimes if they're vivid then i can remember them for the whole day!

I recently had dream about cuddling a coworker! When I saw the coworker as much as I wanted to tell her about the cuddle session I thought it would be inappropriate since she is subordinate to me...didn't have the nerve to do it but I sure wish I could tell.

I wouldn't find that creepy at all. :)

I had a similar NIGHTMARE like that once... I needed to use the bathroom and found a port-a-potty in the middle of the street except once I got inside it was like a glass box, I could see people as they were walking by and it suddenly looked as if the toilet was just in the middle of the street with nothing around me.

I wouldn't call that a dream because I actually have childhood trauma from someone watching me on the toilet in a public restroom. There was another incident after that where the only restroom I could find none of the stalls had doors on them so anyone who walked by could see into the stall. I had my dad stand in front of the stall facing away from me where the door SHOULD be but even then there were gaps that made things very uncomfortable and that type of nightmare just brings a lot of PTSD.

For me it's more random. Some times I remember my dreams in vivid detail, other times I forget them the moment I wake up. I usually know I was dreaming even if I can't remember the dream cause whatever feelings I was having in the dream tend to stay with me when I wake up even if I can't remember what caused that reaction in the first place. I once woke up with the sensation of falling but couldn't remember dreaming that I was falling and I didn't fall out of bed, actually I could swear I fell onto the bed. There's also times where I remember it when I wake up but start forgetting details the more I try to recall them. There's a few dreams I still remember YEARS later like in one dream I grew up on an Amish farm left home and my religion, became a fire fighter, had a daughter, got divorced, daughter stopped speaking to me for years, developed alzheimer's, stole a fire truck, went back to the farm where I grew up, put out a fire that had been started there, then my daughter showed up and apparently she had followed me there and we made up at some point but I forgot about it because of the alzheimer's and then I died in her arms... and that was when I woke up... kind of hard to forget basically living 90 years in another life all through a dream that was only 8 hours of sleep in real time. I tend not to remember recurring dreams while I'm having them but once I wake up I not only remember the dream but also have that dejavu feeling and realize it's not the first time, though for some reason only my nightmares ever become recurring. I use to have nightmares every night as a kid and there were quite a few that would repeat over and over again. It actually stopped one night when the dream detoured. The first time it happened I was on this bus and the bus was originally meant to drive across an old unstable bridge across a canon. I'm terrified of heights. Someone sitting next to me was smoking a cigar and put out the end of it by sticking the burning end into my leg. However this one night the bus stopped at a diner just before getting on the bridge. There was a French man in the dinner and we ended up having an argument about the origin of French Fries which are not actually French as the man informed me, even though I already knew this... but I soon forgot about the bus which left without me and I woke up laughing at how silly our argument was rather than in a crying panic like I normally would. There's actually more to the original night mare but the details get kind of personal and I'd rather not discuss it.

Anyway... as to your dream about your coworker... as long as it's platonic I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Technically there's not really anything wrong with having a sexual dream about a coworker either as long you don't actually act on it. I kind of understand the concern being a superior the person might feel obligated to "cozy up to the boss" but you could also potentially make things even MORE awkward by not talking to her cause then she might assume things about why you're suddenly acting different around her. Don't be like one of those bad Sit Com plots where the entire problem of the episode could have been avoided if the characters just talked to each other. lol

  • Dreaming is when your subconscious mind becomes conscious. Any face you see in your dream is one you've seen before in the waking world.

My similar dreams are never platonic. 🙄

  • As long as you don't act out anything non-consenual in the waking world. Nobody but you knows what you dreamt about unless you tell people.

  • [Deleted User]Snuggluffagus (deleted user)

Interesting how you took that as non-consensual.

  • @Snuggluffagus - I gave a generalized statement. I dont know the details of your dreams.

  • I think the etymology of french fries needs a separate thread

"Dreaming is when your subconscious mind becomes conscious. Any face you see in your dream is one you've seen before in the waking world."

That's not actually true. Some faces are people you've seen, some people in dreams don't even faces. I've had several dreams about a girl who I've never actually seen her face and have no idea who she is. I seen a birthmark on her right shoulder blade but never saw her face.

There's also http://www.thisman.org/oldsite/ which apparently everyone has seen in their dreams at some point and this is actually what that French man who appeared in my recurring dreams looks like... except he's wearing a beret and pretty much the stereotypical style of clothing every exaggerated French person in American television and movies wear. I don't know why I imagined him as a stereotypical character from every comedy I've ever seen but also made him get offended by referring to fries as being French when they're not.

And the thing is I'd never actually think of a real French person that way, it was just something silly my subconscious came up with as a coping mechanism.

"I think the etymology of french fries needs a separate thread"

Realistically that would be a very short thread, french fries were an American invention, end of thread. But it's still hilarious to devote an entire discussion to weather or not french fries are actually French.

  • A dream I had a while back that turned into a strong cuddle need (that did finally get fulfilled yay!)

Dreamt that I was in a thruple (I'm polyamorous) and we were in bed together, I laid my head in one partner's lap as they stroked my hair and the other partner spooned me and stroked my arms and legs

Felt so relaxed and comfortable that I drifted off to sleep in the dream

  • The concept of falling asleep in a dream when you're technically already asleep is really weird... I don't think I've ever experienced that before though I've strangely experienced the opposite where I thought I had woken up from a dream and could remember dreaming while simultaneously being unaware that I was still in a dream. It's only happened to me twice but it's really disorienting as when I did wake up for real I wasn't quite sure I was actually awake since I'd already experienced the sensation of waking up before and still being in a dream. I spent the whole day questioning if I was still in that same dream asleep or if I had actually woken up for real finally.
