  • Be very interested in how the brain works in regards to recovery/addiction. it will be the weapon you are seeking when it comes to the battle of the old vs new you in your mind. also, connection is the opposite of addiction so a good program will help tremendously once you are released from rehab. bare in mind, there are several different ones available. keep searching and you will find the right one for you! a good family and friend support system is ideal but if that's not available, the people at these recovery programs are absolute angels. they help with guidance, understanding and experience. make sure you do your best to not feel alone. this is where you insert religious content. look up the "rat park" experiment. its definitely a plot twist to someone like myself who thought I knew it all. I never thought there was a problem until I landed up in the hospital with a long list of fatal internal trauma. I made a decision to leave alcohol behind and learned how to stick with it.
