  • @Mike_Girard I didn't click the link. I'm too afraid I'll rank somewhere high and then have to waste one or more therapy sessions on that.

  • @CuddlesByDeep Lol. I doubt you will rank high. You're a sweetie. I think mine said 10% sociopath, 10% id, 80% ego. Something like that.

  • @CuddlesByDeep that site is cursed. It triggers the only hypochondria I'm subject to.

  • @achetocuddle That’ the same score/numbers I got. I don’t know if I wanna cuddle with anyone that answers true to the last question (about animals).

I wish I had their steely nerves. Sociopaths are supposed to be great in dangerous situations requiring decisive action. I've read they're overrepresented among surgeons, but don't remember my source for that. Seems plausible.

  • @Charlie_Bear Ditto. Thanks for giving your numbers.

@Mike_Girard Having their nerves would be handy. Sometimes I've thought about how much easier life could be without a conscience, which is what some say about sociopaths. I've grieved so much in my life about others hurt feelings or possible hurt feelings and it was so often for little for nothing; it was just my conscience overreacting? Having a conscience and obeying it is a lot of work. I've lightened up on myself in recent years.

  • @robroo I don't think there is much to this test. For one thing, it's not specific enough. But it's nice to know that so far, we here have a good score. Lol.

@achetocuddle yeah, a respite from guilt seems dreamy. But i went down a reading rabbit hole once about sociopathy and one of the books I read was simply an anonymous autobiography. The author didn't complain but hers seemed like a pretty miserable state of mind. All chaos and meaninglessness given shape by messing with other people's heads and never really connecting with anyone.

Guilt, like grief, is an unavoidable downside of love and meaning.

    Edited for language [reurbo]

  • @Mike_Girard You are right of course. I would have elaborated if I could have found your words. Life without meaning would be awful and pointless. Sometimes life with meaning seems pretty pointless to me:) And guilt and grief is an unavoidable downside.

  • This quiz doesn’t seem like it’d be very telling of anything other than you are definitively sociopathic or definitely not.

    I got 30%

  • I'm scared

  • Eh, this kind of self-report quiz seems to require more self-awareness than your average sociopath is going to have. If you think you're as awesome as sociopaths think they are, are you really going to notice (for instance) that you don't learn from your mistakes, or that your delusions are delusions?

It might help a little if the test asks you to compare yourself to those around you, like this one does: https://www.idrlabs.com/3-minute-sociopathy/test.php

...Or if it doesn't ask for the truth so much as for your perception of it, like this one: https://www.idrlabs.com/psychopathy-spectrum/test.php

But in the end, a self-report is never going to be super reliable.

  • @DaringSprinter So true and I was thinking along the same lines. I don't know if this thread was a convo starter or started with some nefarious intentions. It does taste a little of trolling to me, maybe not in the strict sense of the word.
I almost did not do the quiz, but I'm bored cause I have to rest so much. I have a most uncooperative body. Lol. I hope you are getting better.

@UCpaaHVg6u0 Thinking this was not meant to be funny. You strike me as a person who has come so far and should not beat themselves up too much.

  • I took the test & this is my result.

@achetocuddle: My wrists, elbows, and back seem to be doing better this week—but my knees and ankles have apparently decided to make up the difference. It's always something.

This thread reminds me of the games I used to hear my sisters playing with their friends during sleepovers, honestly. Less troll, more late-night fun.

It's not difficult to get high scores on these. They're easy to scare yourself with!

    Illness Quiz sociopathy test

    IDR Labs Sociopathy test

    IDR Labs Psychopathy test

It's also not difficult to get a low score, if you'd rather. ...But that's less fun.

  • Hmm... The test seemed quite a bit simpler than I expected. 🤷

You are Not at all Sociopath.

You scored 10% in this screening test, so it means you do not have any sociopath tendencies.

    Id Level: 20

    Ego Level: 80

  • Oh, are we doing sociopathy? I wonder how high I'll score, cause a lot of screening for sociopathy catches autistic folks too.

...yep, that seems to be the case lol
