Virtual cuddling is misnamed but isn't something that interests me. Yay, to those who enjoy it.
For those who are against it, its probably time to move on and stop trying to convince others that you are right.

    @laidbackron

There's no touching in virtual cuddling.

    True

There's also no love and affection.

    False

I've explained several times on the forum why cuddling is essentially emotional, I can't face doing it yet again.

Cuddling is a rapidly evolving field. Dictionary definitions can't keep up in such an environment.

I have never encountered somebody who has done a genuine telecuddle and claims it didn't happen. All the naysayers are people who haven't done it.

Learn to distinguish between "I haven't done it" and "it doesn't exist."

@Btown I agree that the term is a misnomer.

  • @Btown This is a thread for people questioning its validity. We're not trying to convince anyone, we're sharing perspective. If you don't like it, you don't have to participate, rather than tell others to move on. For those that want to discuss and debate, its a good time and everyone's welcome.

  • [Deleted User]Btown (deleted user)

@laidbackron I believe was sharing my perspective.

  • @CuddleDuncan

How can it both be cuddling while also being a misnomer?

At the end of the day, its not cuddling, which is a type of physical comfort.

Telecuddling is just virtual company but not in any way cuddling. The next phase is Pro's offering cuddling thoughts, where for $X, the Pro wil imagine cuddling you.

  • @Btown You know what you were doing. You were discouraging the discussion. And unlike you, I didn't recommend you move on or stop doing anything. I just said you don't have to participate. But you're obviously welcome to continue. See how that works? No thought policing. No bossing people around. Just discussion within the forum rules. If we don't have discussion and debate, the forum turns into frustration fueled essays and cat memes.

  • At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. They can call it what they want. I've seen pros offer a texting companion for $150, but if somebody enjoys it, whatever sinks their Titanic.

  • Just did my first virtual session recently. While I can't call it "cuddling" with a straight face, it seems very helpful as a way to get acquainted, particularly with someone who's farther away who one might wish to book with when traveling.

  • @laidbackron the problem with the term "virtual cuddling" is the virtual part, not the cuddling part. It isn't virtual, which nowadays tends to imply virtual reality. But it isn't VR, it's just online. Also you're not dealing with a real person, you're dealing with an image. But it's not a virtual image, it's a real image.

I'm using telecuddling at the moment, but I don't have a strong attachment to it.

I agree with you that cuddling is a form of comfort. It is, to a considerable extent, a feeling. That feeling is most readily obtained by having, you've guessed, a real cuddle. But when a real cuddle isn't available, much of the same feeling can be obtained by a telecuddle.

Or to put it another way, what really matters about a cuddle is how you feel. How that feeling is created doesn't matter so much: whether it's from a real connection or an online connection isn't the important part.

Online company is great, but it's a very different thing from telecuddling.

  • Yeah, it truthfully doesn't matter. It's just fun to discuss. Nobody's calling for rules and regulations. It's just funny. And paid virtual sessions are tragic comedy. To each his/her own, but we should be free to discuss.

I have a hard time taking it seriously until I hear a woman paid a male Pro for a virtual cuddle.

  • edited July 2022

@laidbackron - Guys pay Twitch streamers a lot of money just because she's a female. What does he get out of it? She may mention his name and thank him for the generous donation. It's just the way men are. I don't judge them for it as long as it isn't financially ruining them and they can still fulfill their other obligations. It's their money.

  • I'm not a professional and I don't charge but women do ask me for telecuddles sometimes.

So far, women barely pay men professionals at all. It wil change one day but we're not there yet.

  • Male professionals are no different than other guys who don't charge. So why pay a male pro when there are plenty of free options?

  • @laidbackron Haha, yeah, that exactly what paid tele cuddling reminds me of. I agree with people doing it should't be judged, but I see value dissecting the act because I feel like some Pro's can and will try selling anything, and at the very least, the act warrants critical commentary but not harassment or mocking of individuals, which would be a major line crossing

  • @CuddleDuncan I can see women seeking you for free virtual company. So I guess I have to withdraw my criticism somewhat. I guess its more a joke when its a paid service that isn't even a cuddle, but I want to avoid criticizing the payment aspect and focus on it not being a cuddle. Like, what if Pro's started offering used Cuddle Clothing? That would also be ridiculous and I'd hate for everyone to silently nod their head along like Pro's can do no wrong.

@laidbackron "Its definitely up to each person, and the forums aren't really friendly toward criticism of Pro's.... Free video chats, sure. Paid video chats is just funny. Like people buying used socks and fart jars."

So you're not a fan of virtual cuddling, and you're not a fan of paying market price or any price for in-person cuddling. So what are you trying to do? Trying to show us how to be alpha?

You're comparing virtual cuddling/irl to simp/incel culture? I would really like to hear the explanation of that one. I personally think they are different bc the feeling I get is that there are men who enjoy the platonic touch and companionship vs. Lonely internet guys who pay for anything to get near and "worship" women. I get what you're trying to say, but I think that cuddling is its own thing: I go Latin dancing, I date, I pay for massages, and I hang out with friends and try new meetups. I think cuddling has its own niche and is not just lonely men worshipping women like your premise, but that's my two cents.

  • The hope would be that male pros keep their boundaries, don't get attached, are good listeners and above all are safe to spend time with - in higher numbers than the general population of men. Not always what happens though.

@CuddleDuncan Can be a Podcaster and award winning author. It's just a different demand for monetization based on social constructs in society.

At the clubs and bars, there's no "men's night" on Thursday nights. Know why? Bc women need to be selective with who they spend time and company with - we've all been through why in the other threads as far as safety and trust. @laidbackron

Men contribute greatly to the cuddle community in different ways, just like women do. They are different, but equal imo. And by men, I mean stable, accountable, and respectful people who keep the vibes going.

If more actually paid attention and respected women like the Cuddle GOAT, then they would also find companionship, cuddles, and "happiness" on Cuddle Comfort (not a paid advertisement or endorsement - OR is it?).

  • @cde123 - That's a hope, but it doesn't actually work that way. I read about a case where a woman hired a male pro and he groped her. Any guy with $20 per month to spare can have a pro account.

  • @Mike403 Yeah I saw that from @Rezz too. Really sad.

  • [Deleted User]HumbleBaron (deleted user)

I guess I agree with most here its not considered cuddling instead its just a video call

@laidbackron - Pls be nice to @Btown . He's our local patron and guru. He once pulled me out of an alligator infested river, without getting wet - he also once sparred 10 rounds w Roberto Duran in the 80s, and knocked him down. Please treat him kindly. He's being protective but he means well.

@cylee1180 You're associating a lot of words I don't care about with my comments. I'm not teaching anyone to be alpha and I don't even understand how incel terrorists would be related to virtual cuddling. If anything I'm joking about something I feel is related to a scam but not quite a scam. I don't even know what the correct word is, because I don't even want to say it's wrong. I'm saying its a joke. Like canned farts and dirty socks. I'm not saying it should be against the rules. Its actually similar to Pro's selling text messaging, which is what Only Fans models do.

I've paid for cuddling before. Where'd you get the idea that I've never done that? I don't even have a fee cap. I was just expressing in the other thread that, in my opinion, a higher fee is a harder sell and a lower fee is an easier sell, but all kinds of qualitative and subjective factors can offset it.

@cylee1180 Nobody needs you interjecting your preaching on safety and trust in this thread. Its not even germane to the conversation at hand. You're trying to score virtue points from god knows who at this point. You can find an audience for that and buy one of their fart jars and texting subscriptions while you're at it, and they can show you how to use it via Zoom.

  • @cylee1180 Noooooooo. @Btown knows what he was doing. Telling people to "move on". This forum often has way too much of this. And like I said elsewhere, its turned into frustration fueled essays and cat memes because of all the thought policing. We need good, fun spirited, rule abiding debate. I know for sure you want that and are in fact good at it. Its evident in your responses.

  • Wow, look at all these people assigning gender roles. Is this thread saying Men mostly pay for cuddling because we're the providers and women are the nurturers?! I don't know how that's gonna fly on this message board. Should I go get popcorn?

  • I think a mod needs to lock this thread. It has served its original purpose and has devolved into pointless arguing.

  • @laidbackron Hey man, I was trying to play nice , but you are seriously making comparisons of virtual cuddling to buying farts or OF text messages- that's officially incel/simp culture...and preaching to men about what and what not to do to "not women get inflated" is officially this red pill culture and men trying to act "alpha" stuff. Don't you think that is insulting?

Thanks for the clarification about the fees

Now, you're also talking about "virtue signaling" which is essentially saying that I'm trying to police pple disingenuously to earn community points or to appear in the right. Any other terns to use? White knighting? Nah, that's not it.

So you're upset that I'm holding you accountable to your opinionated thoughts? I thought you were just stating how you "appreciate debate and exchanging of ideas?" Or does that only apply when you add flagrant, unchecked comments, but this open forum of debate doesn't apply ?

And @Btown is the man - and cat memes are amazing. Lol

I'll pass on the farts though. Lol

  • Listen, I get that there's that story from Rezz about a woman hiring a male Pro who then groped her. That's terrible. Its also an exceptional edge case.

As I had a top female Pro explain to me years ago, part of her high fee was attributed to her taking on the risk of just showing up to meet strangers in somewhat abnormal or random circumstances. It sure as heck wasn't because her or any of these pro's have advanced training. Yes, its also their time, but its also everything else involved in performing service (prep, travel, scheduling, risk assumption/mitigation etc)

  • @Mike403 its not pointless. Stop whining. Leave if you don't see value in it instead of complaining and crying. What you're doing is such a huge issue in this forum. Nobodies being rude and your talk of the thread "serving its purpose" is never brought up when people derail a thread to talk about their personal issues. I don't mean to be harsh, but you're being selfish and judgmental.

  • @laidbackron - You're allowed to give your opinions, but others can't give theirs? This thread was asking if virtual cuddling is real thing and has been answered.
