@AGnihon - I wonder if he ever mentioned the actual problems of our country. We are #1 for the amount of gun violence. No other country comes close to the amount of mass shootings per year than we do.
@Mike absolutely correct! In fact he was pro guns as almost everyone in his party is. What he talked about, he talked about because it benefitted him, not because it was actually important for us.
I was originally going to comment on this thread earlier but got distracted and thought I'd come back to say something later, but now it's just turned into yet another thread on politics.
Don't understand why so many of these threads turn to politics when the initial topic is something non political, it's pretty frustrating.
To at least say something on-topic, I'll say that as someone with a suppressed immune system I've definitely got it on my mind as something to watch out for, but will admit that I'm rather ignorant on the topic. From some of what I've read on it including in this thread it seems like it'd be low risk for transmission if you're even somewhat careful due to how it shows and is transmitted with the blisters so hopefully it'll not get too bad. Wary that new things come out about it that say otherwise, but fingers crossed it's just going to fade as fast as it's come about.
@Zundar - It started out with what our former president was calling COVID and then it just evolved into a political thread.
People have 24/7 incurable Trump Derangement Syndrome where they have to bring it up in posts created that had nothing to do with it and completely derail it. The bottom line in my opinion: we have seen what political correctness has done to Covid, let's not let that happen to Monkey Pox. It looks awful, the lesions look like something out of a horror movie. It presently is 99% happening in a certain segment of the population. Control the spread in that community. That isn't bigoted, homophobic, or whatever ism you want to label it. People were all ready skiddish about returning to in person cuddling, they don't need another "pandemic" to worry about.
People are free to make their own choices when it comes to most diseases. COVID had all those restrictions because it was so bad that it was overwhelming hospitals and they were worried that they were gonna run out of resources to treat everyone.
