We baby boomers used to get smallpox vaccine during infancy. Supposedly there's still some strength to it, though how this translates as resistance to cousin monkeypox is ? Not to be trite but somebody said that the name Monkeypox sounds like an electronic game from the 80s or 90s.
I have been hesitant to cuddle a bit due to the Monkeypox spread too. But I think knowing the symptoms, bathing and sanitizing linen before cuddling will help a bit. I’m always fresh out of the shower before cuddling and stuff so hopefully since this has been a normal routine for me since I was a child it’ll help.
So what are (if any) precautions for both pro and non pro cuddlers can take to ensure that they are not accidentally spreading monkeypox as it reportedly has a 3 day to 3 week incubation period even without symptoms… Should we get tested before sessions or… Just wondering, give thanks everyone
I don’t think testing is easily available at this point. Quest Diagnostic recently announced they are testing for monkeypox but I think you need a rash and it takes awhile to get results. Anyone who has a rash should not be cuddling anyway. If someone knows they have been exposed, they should certainly find out what kind of testing is available and how long it takes for it to show up on a test.
So far there have been 2 cases in the St. Louis area.
Time to gather all the monkeys from zoos and owners and put them in internment camps.

Edit: Monkeypox does not look like a good time at all. I just got over covid and I don’t care to quarantine again 🙃
