I see how feminism is a trend...it's only several hundred years old. The whole voting rights and working their own job and paying their whole way are just little flukes that found their way to modern society.
Maybe someday it'll become obsolete...maybe the trend will end when women stop making 87 cents to the dollar. Lol. Then some men will really have something to whine about!

Regarding chauvinism and political views:
There are some women out there who like sexists, and there are plenty of people in just about every political group. Maybe posting things like this publicly isn't such a bad idea, if what you want is to rapidly filter out every potential cuddler who wouldn't be comfortable cuddling you.
@cylee1180 well, we recently had triple digit temps out here in Austin for several days in a row, so I'm not surprised people from Austin might be used to keeping the room a bit hotter. We've all been keeping thermostats above the usual comfort level in an effort to save the grid and, frankly, to save our AC systems.

@DaringSprinter That's true, and many men make bad decisions with being with controlling and abusive partners as well - pple do drugs and eat bad food...doesn't mean it's good for them.
I would even say, if you're a chauvinist, keep it to yourself. No need to pollute the air with your ideas. And on top of that, then behave like you're the victim and you're being persecuted for your belief system. Lol

But some people do have these ideas, and so personally I'd just as soon know right off that someone's a chauvinist/homophobe/whatever, so I can avoid them—I don't need someone who might be a danger to me sliding under my radar until it's too late.
They oughta stop at wearing buttons, though. Just announcing what they are is good enough; no need to air the ideas, nor pretend the one holding them is a victim!
@DaringSprinter Agree. Unfortunately, while humans have the capacity to reason and problem solve, most don't do it! Most of the world's problems come from it!
This has turned into a substantial thread in spite of my sarcasm and the vacuous start. I really enjoy the substantial threads. I'm hoping that more members that some people would like to avoid will forum post and weed themselves out. I actually hope my posts will cut down on PMs I receive from people I don't want to know.
I did not expect to feel this way, but like cylee1180 I came for the cuddles and stayed for the convo. As Saysoh once said, I stayed cause there are some dope cats here.

@CuddlesByDeep "several days in a row"? ha! As you know, we've been having 15 or 20 consecutive days of triple digit temps, with an occasional 98-degree "break." I agree with keeping the AC set as high as comfortably possible. We don't want to start having rolling blackouts. Fortunately, I get a decent breeze and along with the ceiling fans I'm comfortable at about 80. I only lowered the AC in the evening to 74 for cuddling.
