A lot of karma use too many general adjectives

I wish more people who leave Karma would go a little deeper and be more specific and descriptive in their experience or their description of the person. So many karma describe the cuddler as "kind," "generous," "lovely," "fun to talk to," etc... These kinds of words don't really make a cuddler stand out as these are the same kind of words that I have seen used for most cuddlers with karma. This can make it hard when trying to choose whom to book with. I have noticed that some people do go deeper with their descriptions, but so many karma don't really paint the broader picture. What do you all think about the matter?

I’m usually very inspired about my cuddlers and I have so much to say about them. And I love the karma that I’ve been given. I feel like the men do such a great job leaving karma.

But I do have to agree with you that it seems like it’s the same thing over and over again. It’s kind of like when someone is telling their employees you guys do a great job, I like to say how do we do a great job can you be more specific. I have a friend who when I give him a compliment he always says how so. It always makes me think a little deeper on why I feel the way I do about him. But one of my favorite things in life is to give people genuine feedback and compliments. I’ve had people say that’s too much Kim but if I’m feeling it I got to say it, why not!!!

I have to say these are some really good threads lately I usually don’t post very much. But I really like peoples comments and questions.

  • Lol ~ Perhaps they just don't know about, Thesaurus.com yet... 💁‍♀️

  • I’m not sure what you want the karma to say? What are you looking for specifically per se?

  • The thing about karma is you’re publicly judging and rating and describing a private experience with a person you may have genuine affection for.

So in that sense it’s pretty awkward and weird. I personally don’t mind whatever someone wants to say when leaving me karma, and I do like it when people have good things to say about me. But I’ve actually gradually backed off and gotten a little more generic with the karma I leave for others.

  • I guess it depends on if you left an impression on the person.

I'm pretty happy with the karma my cuddlers have left me.

I try my best to create a comfortable, safe environment that allows for genuine connection to happen.

My cuddlers seem to enjoy the connection and the leave karma accordingly.

I'm glad people leave karma and I'm glad I don't have to. I'm too private. I think a lot of karma is too generic to be very helpful, other than good karma means they must have not crossed boundaries deliberately and were safe, which is something.

Something beyond generic karma takes time and thought. I think some people are too busy and some dislike reading and writing, which is OK.

@Ironman294 Regarding an example: When people say generous, it would be nice if they specified generous with material things, their listening ear, their heart, etc. But that is a private thing, maybe too private. Just the one example I could think of right now.

I understand what you mean with the general terms because it feels pretty great when they let you know it was beyond the normal experience and that they enjoyed your company.

  • @AGnihon What a interesting question you pose....

You said sort of "common" words

These kinds of words don't really make a cuddler stand out....

Karma is such a fascinating tool on this website. Its not 100% reliable and also isn't really used the way the Creators intended in my opinion.
You don't usually see less than 5 stars unless its a 1
You don't always get the same person all of the karma speaks about
You can't always trust that it was given freely (as opposed to someone feeling like they will be retaliated against if they don't give good karma)

Its seems like you're talking about TWO different categories.... When you say the word "book" I must assume that you are talking about a PRO and maybe posting this in the Pro section will give you more of the answers you are looking for.

As for ME and my ENTHUSIAST self.... When I see karma left for someone that I'm thinking about connecting with, I read the words spoken but I also look at what's NOT spoken. Sometimes I do that by looking at karma left for other people by that same user. i.e. Sassy posts karma about Kozy and then you look at karma that Sassy posted about other people. If Sassy is extremely verbose and uses a Thesarus with @Sideon but not Kozy then I would wind up assuming there was a different kind of connection.

I think @achetocuddle speaks to a very important part of the Karma system, and that is whether or not the person checks off boxes for safety. Are they kind? Did they show up on time? Did they push boundaries? And MAYBE they are all of those things but they don't quite reach the level of my favorite cuddle of all time and so those are the highlights.

Just because I don't have an EXTRAORDINARY time (like with one of my favorite humans @Sideon ) doesn't mean I want to give less karma or leave a negative review. And just because I had this experience with someone doesn't mean the next person won't think they are an EXTRASPECIALSUPERCALIFRAGILISTIC kind of cuddler.

Karma doesn't always do a good job about dealing with cuddle chemistry and like some have said.... when you experience a really super cool connection with someone, you don't always want to speak about it out loud for the world because it kind of takes away some of the special pixie dust of the one on one connection.

So glad you are here @AGnihon and a great part of the forum!!

  • I tend to write very detailed Karma, dependent upon how extensive my time with the person was, of course. For some I spent 12 hours with, I wrote multiple paragraphs. I try to review my contact with people in each scenario I encountered them (online communication, non-cuddle meet-ups, & cuddling). If you click on my Karma page, you can then click the people and go into their Karma to see what I've written. Thankfully I have been thrilled with every person I have met, in person, thus far. This is a beautiful community.

  • A+++++++ would snuggle again

  • What's another word for thesaurus?

  • other word book

  • This thread is very very decent.

  • @BashfulLoner Yeah, it is. A real pleasure :)

  • This thread arrived on time. It felt very comfortable and I felt like I'd been reading this thread for a long time. Reading through this thread felt like a very calming and connected experience. I look forward to reading this thread again.

  • @DaringSprinter I love looking at old book covers you post. It's nostalgic.

  • @achetocuddle: I own that one! It's a 1947 edition of a book originally copyrighted in 1914.

I would love to show you my physical library. There are a lot of old books, and every one of them makes me happy. I'm glad you enjoy seeing the covers of some of them!

(Note: The Barsoom cover is the only one I've posted so far that I don't physically own.)

  • Anybody @SunsetSnuggles karma’s I would cuddle, just saying:)

  • @KozyKim You are the sweetest! 💖 They are some amazing individuals.

  • @DaringSprinter I'd like to see your physical library. I don't travel well anymore tho. The physical presence of a bunch of books makes me happy. Oops, getting off-topic.

    Carry on.

  • [Deleted User]Btown (deleted user)

I don't think trying to give deep descriptive karma with someone you just met for an hour or two is realistic. If it was an enjoyable experience that you would do again then say it and move on.

  • @Btown Succinct advice that can work just fine.

  • @zerocantaloupe haha I read that as if it was eBay feedback. Throw in “fast shipping” and you have the feedback I’ve left the the past 20ish years

  • Personal (and private) details from an intimate encounter seems a little uncouth. No two sessions will be alike due to the nature of this business. Even a 5-star cuddler can have an off day or the one's with no karma may be perfect for me.

Read the bio and ask to talk/meet beforehand.

I think you’re expecting too much of those leaving karma. They are not professional reviewers. They had a good experience. ‘Nuf said. Take time to get to know the person yourself.

OMG, Funk & Wagnalls! Totally forgot about it’s existence. That just made my evening.

@achetocuddle - come to St. Louis and I’ll drive the rest of the way to North Dakota. @DaringSprinter , you don’t even have to talk to us since (I think) you’ve indicated you’re not real conversational. We’ll just hang out with your books. I’ll see if I can borrow back the copy of English As She Is Spoke that I gave to a friend, I guarantee you will enjoy it. Shoot, maybe we’ll bring the bunny.

  • @AGnihon I think you are right. And given what @sillysassy pointed out about stars being an average of ones and fives, perhaps we need to revamp the system. I don't really know but I'm guessing that it was put forth early on as it stands, without much testing/tweaking. We might ask the community if it's working. I've heard many say that it hides the non-platonic transgressions that may have occurred during sessions, or at least it doesn't make up for the tendency of pros to give a cleaner impression of how the session went than is warranted.

  • I personally don’t like generic karma. Or generic complements. But that’s just me. I try to think about what to say and make sure that I won’t make the person embarrassed. I would be very sad of all my karma said she was kind, loving and respectful. I love reading each person’s experience when they give me karma.

  • @Babichev: That sounds splendid.

Fair warning, when I get onto the topic of books I no longer notice even blatant attempts to get me to shut up or move on!

A lot of my quietness in person comes from knowing that once I open that spigot, it's probably not closing again any time soon and it's likely to annoy people. I'm a monologuer! Actual conversation in person tends to be a bit too complex for me. I can either listen or talk, but—not both.

Funnily enough, knowing the problem and what causes it does nothing to make it go away....

  • Sorry everyone, I can't get to most of these. There are so many good comments, but not enough time. Thanks for all the input though! Have to say I agreed with some points by @KozyKim, @SunsetSnuggles, and @achetocuddle !
