  • You've always had them, they are just becoming obvious to your retina - they are called eye floaters... it's normal and you'll be fine - eventually after a few months you'll begin to ignore them automatically

  • @KellyPringle its ok. You can give it to me straight. How long do i have?
    Ive lived a good life

  • @Jova114 Squiggly lines?

  • At your advanced age, it’s best you get your affairs in order now.

  • @SpooniesBack right? I wonder who should get my giant beanbag chair

  • Thats a decision that can only be made by you in consultation with your optometrist.

  • This thread is good 'n' hilarious!

  • @Jova114 bluntly, yes, it does sound like like it. I would guess that you have about 10 left.

  • I call dibs on your sneaker collection 😛

  • @achetocuddle glad my demise is entertaining lol

    @CuddleDuncan 10? Oh no. 10 what exactly?

  • @SweetCamiXO lol they wouldnt fit you. Im 11.5

  • Im a size 12, but if you have any Air Jordans you need to get rid of, I am sure I could make an 11.5 work.

  • @SpooniesBack i need to be buried in a pair at least

  • Not in Air Jordans! The shoe is too iconic to be buried. I recommend you go with the Nike LeBron’s.

  • @SpooniesBack lol nahh. I wanna be buried in a pair of 1s or 9s.

  • So glad that many members here have a good sense of humor and want to share it on the forum :)

    @Jova114 It's true that you will get used to floaters in your eyes :)

    @CuddleDuncan 10? Oh no. 10 what exactly?

    @Jova114 ..... 9 ......

  • I don’t think it’s a good thing if a man is spotting.

  • Depends on the spots. I get them like a little mini fireworks show when my blood sugar gets low

  • @Jova114 ~ Wow!! You have a built-in connect-the-dots challenge that'll get more complicated/level you up as your countdown continues!!

    And some say getting old is no fun... smh

  • @achetocuddle nope its something serious and life threatening. I know it

  • @CuddleDuncan oh no....dont say 8 dont say 8

  • @SnugggleBunny maybe thats it. I need more sugar

  • @quixotic_life what do i get if i solve them and win?

  • @CuddleDuncan oh no....dont say 8 dont say 8

    .... 7 .....

  • @CuddleDuncan no fair my nephew got me to enjoy counting down

  • No offense but none of this is remotely funny. Any sudden change in vision needs to be addressed immediately as it can indicate very serious underlying causes. This is not a joke. I have a deactivated account but still read forums, so im logging in to share my story as you need to take this seriously. I woll deactivate my account once it posts.

    I'm sorry if the following is alarming but I feel impelled to jump in here and let you know what just happened to me. About a month ago I woke up with a spot lower right eye and ignored it for a few days then went to eye doc. The spot became more like a shadow which made it seem dimmer in one eye and quickly progressed over the weeks. I was referred to a retinal specialist who found my optical nerve was swollen. They referred me to a neurological ophthalmologist who did more testing. Over several weeks my visual field became more dimished to like looking thru a veil, very dimished all over right eye. The ophthalmologist sent me for an mri to see if I had a tumor or evidence of a stroke or something causing pressure on my nerve. Mri came back clean, so I was then admitted to hospital to get a steroid infusion therapy (to reduce swelling) and was there for 5 days. While admitted I had 2 more mris, one of my brain abd orbitals and the other my full spinal cord system. Also a cat scan, a heart sonogram and a lumbar tap i.e. spinal tap to draw and test spinal fluid. And dozens of blood tests. Alarmingly one of the more common culprits for my particular sudden onset of symptoms can be an early sign of MS. There are numerous autoimmune diseases that could have been an underlying cause as well. As could be a clot causing an eye stroke. All my tests revealed absolutely nothing, I am by all tests results completely neurologically fit and healthy, all my blood work was excellent, my Vascular system is clear. They found No lesions or marks on my brain or spinal system which could indicate MS, strokes and other nasty things lurking deep in your nervous system. My spinal fluid tested clean, revealed no underlying diseases or viral infections. SOOOOO
    As of right now there is no known cause other than a spontaneous occurrence. I'm very relieved I'm as healthy as I am, but They cannot tell me if I will ever regain what vision is dimished. It may be permanent. While I can "see" it's like an overall haziness and shadowy especially my perifery.

    Had I gone to ER right away who knows they may have started steroids soon enough to reduce the optical nerve swelling and perhaps my vision would not have become as dimished as it now is. Cannot do anymore testing until my steroid taper protocol is complete (2 more weeks).

    Anecdotal evidence has revealed this paricular condition I experienced, Optical Neuritis, is how some people discovered they had MS or other underlying disease. Others went thru the same battery of tests and were clean as a whistle like me, no cause found. Of those, some regained some improvement of visual field, some regained none, others got most or all of it back but took months to a year or longer. Last few days I feel like there might be a very minor improvement but then maybe I'm just getting used to it. I also test + for covid weekend after Thanksgiving so I'm quarantined at home thru Monday.

    I truly hope and pray you have nothing even remotely like this, but if you are even seeing floaters its worth getting yourself checked man. A guy at work i know was out for months with a detached retina, needed surgery, hes back and fine. Not sure his initial symptoms but he said he started seeing double one night and eventually got checked out. You just never know.

    I would drop what your doing and go right away to get checked and hopefully it's nothing of concern! 🙏🏼
