Need a little help breaking the ice

So I am not sure how the whole friends thing works on here, and true to life I am not really great at pursuing friendships with folks. I am interested in getting to know the good folks on here. I am pretty bored and do get a little lonely and its nice to know there is a community for folks like myself. I would like to see if there is anybody who is willing to send me a friend request. Would love to be friends, but I don't really know anybody on here so don't know were to start or who to start with. Thanks in advance.

    My advice would be check out profiles of those of similar age who live near you, if someone seems nice then just drop them a message, say maybe you'd like to get to know them a little, or words to that effect. At the end of the day, practically no one who joins this site is going to know anyone else on here at first, this isn't a site that that many people join relatively speaking, so everyone's going to understand what it's like to be in your position.
