What does it mean when a members account is paused?
I think it means they are taking a self imposed break. As opposed to being banned. I'm not sure the difference between paused and deactivated though. Also, I could be entirely wrong.

IIRC Paused is done by the mods. It usually happens to professional accounts when there is an irregularity. It does not necessarily indicate wrongdoing and could just be an administrative matter. For example, it could just be that the professional's card has expired without the professional noticing, and the site can't take payment. The account is unpaused when the irregularity has been fixed.
Self-imposed breaks are Mute, which takes you out of search results, and Deactivated which turns off the account without deleting it.

This is also the case for Trolls making multiple profiles claiming to be people who they are clearly not.
Every time my account has been on pause, it’s because I didn’t pay my fee on time 🤣😇 it’s really sad because they give plenty of time to pay, I’m just disorganized 🤦♀️
