Pro cuddlers canceling “last minute”

Admittedly, I am venting. When a guy cancels with a cuddler, it is suggested that we pay them 50% of their rate. The bummer thing is, if they cancel we get nothing in return. I am on vacation and had three cuddles set up as there are no cuddlers where I live. Anyways, one canceled a couple hours prior due to, she forgot what day it was and that she had a work shift at that time. I feel she is a bit anxious as she is new to the site 🤷‍♂️. The other sent a message that she was on her way and then, when she was an hour late, she sent another stating that she fell asleep… so of course I am Discouraged.

It does seem a bit unfair. I had one pro confirm and then cancel all within an hour. It’s not like I would have made other plans s or anything, but I was looking forward to the session

It does suck, but life happens and not everyone is reliable, even people in a business sense. I can think of a number of contractors I have hired to do stuff around my house who have ghosted me. At least you didn't pay a deposit.

That’s rough 😢 I’m sorry to hear that. The rule for pros is if we have to cancel, we are inclined to give a free hour or added time to another session. With you being on vacation, I guess that’s not going to happen. If I were you, I would report these pros for being unprofessional. I understand mistakes can happen but with this being a business (side gig or not), you shouldn’t be accepting bookings on days where you have to work your other job. Most likely, she knew she had that shift but forgetting is very unprofessional. Don’t even get me started on how unprofessional it was for the other pro that said she was on her way to you but also somehow apparently sleeping… at least report them so if this is something they repeat multiple times, their unprofessionalism will get them banned.

I wish I had a magical option that would allow you to get your cuddles but it looks like this is all I can see that can be done 🙁

Yes, if a Client cancels 12 hours or less from an agreed upon session, the Client Service Agreement states they are required to pay the Pro 50% of the session price as they are a business expecting the income; A Client loses nothing financially for a Pro cancelling. Pros are asked to offer something should both sides want to reschedule (e.g. a discount on the session cost, free added time, etc), but this isn't required.

If you have a scheduled session with a therapist and the therapist contacts you to cancel even an hour prior to your session, you reschedule your session, but do you expect to pay them any less or get an extra time? No. Same applies, but we do ask Pros if they can offer something they should.

The only time a Pro is required to compensate a Client is if a Client books accommodations (hotel, motel, airbnb, etc) specifically for the session and would otherwise not have gotten the accommodations for anything else. If the Client is traveling and seeing a Pro while there, that doesn't count, but if the Client is traveling specifically to see a Pro and nothing else, then it do.

I am sorry to hear about your circumstance though. Not every session should be that way and not every new(er) Pro has things figured out yet. Try booking with a Pro with more Karma next chance you can.

I also wonder how many cuddlers have cancel and never pay the 50%. I did cancel once and I paid. And when I rescheduled later she stayed a bit later as a result so it all balanced out in the end

  • @MrAdmirer I've had a ton of last minute cancels and only 3 have ever paid. I'm not complaining. Only saying its rare. If I cancel last minute my discount is -10$. I try not to but have had to before.

I have only had one client ever compensate me for cancelling in almost 5 years 🤣🤣

The amount of cancellations from clients is high.

    So as a synopsis:
I just don't bother with it.

If People can't even read my travel schedule at the top of my profile for booking before messaging me, any extra requirements for these types of people is only draining for me, the provider.

Other pros can do what they like, but ultimately this is what's worked best for my boundaries for energy give and take with complete strangers, I don't have perceived expectations on someone I know very little about or why they are canceling/ECT to actual respect my time. If they were respectful of my time it wouldn't have happened.

Of course, emergencies happen and that's fine, not gonna hold it against someone....but frankly any industry has wasteful clients that do not care about wasting someone's limited time.

  • I’m sorry you’ve had these cancellations happen. As an Enthusiast who is really looking forward to the benefits you need and would feel, it can be a huge disappointment. I agree about looking for Pros with more experience, Karmas and sometimes you can even tell from photos and profiles how seriously they take this.
I have never been paid for a last minute cancellation. And there have been several. Sometimes I think they found someone else instead. I’ve sometimes turned down others who wanted a session, or given up family plans. It’s very disappointing on the Pro’s side too and a loss of income also.

I’ve never insisted a client pay a cancellation fee.

The one time I cancelled the pro didn’t even ask. I insisted I pay. I take this cuddling business very seriously…lol

@simsaddict when I first read your screen name I dyslexiaed it in to simpsaddict and my first thought was damn, that’s a savage name.
Second thought was well that’s very thoughtful all things considered.

  • It is of your own human rights and personal sovereignty to call people out on bullshit, pro or not

  • If I have a client cancel on my 2x I make them pay half upfront for the next session at booking but I have never been paid for them canceling. I will cancel short notice only for weather/health reasons.

  • I had a Pro cancel on me last minute and stiffed me with a $125 hotel room. And the site did nothing.

  • @x174
Your report against the Pro was a screen shot of the room cost saying she didn't show and didn't communicate yet she canceled and notified you 3 hours in advance saying there was a family emergency. Since then she hasn't been back to the site in months so not much we can do if she doesn't plan to stay anyway. If you're going to complain, better give all the facts not just a half truth of the situation.

  • Net runner, yes I am on vacation, however my locations and hotel choices were purely based for convenience for the PROS. I made the appointments 2-3 weeks ago. Also based my destination on the cuddlers.

  • @oregonfireguy wow sounds like one Vegas trip I had. Had multiple appointments and due to all sorts of reasons, sickness, crime, misplaced phones, etc only one happened. A real number, but on the flip side the money I was going to spend, I ended up going to some extra shows, gambling and steak. Life goes on.
