    I did a year abroad and cert in Irish studies, and a couple of my Irish friends ranted so much about Americans using Patty instead of Paddy that it became a pet peeve of mine too lol. "Patty is a girl's name, from Patricia. Paddy is for Pádraig. Get it right, yanks!" 😅🤷🏻‍♀️

    It's so interesting how traditions morph across time and cultures. But whether Irish or of the diaspora, beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh. Sláintѐ!
