That fine line between, “What’s up?”, and, “Can I show you my super rare stamp collection?”

I am terrible at recognizing that line…

  • That's because there is no line. Share the stamp collection

  • I assume you're asking how to recognise when you're boring people.

I am probably not good at it myself, but perhaps the key is to see if they're engaging with whatever you're saying. If they're asking questions that's a good sign of engagement I imagine.

  • If you're asking before launching into talking about your passion? Don't worry about it. You gave them an out and got consent. There's far worse things than boring people in conversations and in sharing your passion you open the door for them to share theirs.

  • I'm not into small talk myself so I'm happy to jump right in to share my hobbies or passions even with complete strangers, the goal's to respect their time by taking interest in their world too

  • Be vewwy vewwy quiet..... I'm hunting wabbit s.,
