@TxTom since it required critical thinking from you I am not surprised.
@BoomerSpooner and @TxTom - consider a mutual gag order, please. Do not engage or tag each other. If you've not already done so, please block one another. The back and forth baiting has to stop. [-Sid]
@TxTom Your post says if you’re in desperate need of a hug right now. Does that mean you’re only looking for a hug? I would meet at a close park to hug them for 15 min. I always thought it be fun to do speed cuddling at a park with a bunch of other people 15 minutes each. I personally would love to cuddle elderly people and children in the park where it can seem safer for everyone. I wear my free hugs T-shirt out in public sometimes if you walked by me would you take a hug?
I would love a hug from you, @KozyKim
I thought about this and decided earlier that I’d use it, but only for public cuddles. Being able to drive to a park and meet a pro would be awesome. Then again, it’d also make travel advertising easier for pros, since they could be “on call” in new cities. Hmmm…
@TxTom A few years ago one of my good friends gave me an hour long hug it was so wonderful. We just stood in the kitchen and I think he was just giving me a hug goodbye but he didn’t let go and it was so wonderful. I stood facing the kitchen clock on the stove that’s how I know.
@cde123 that’s a great point about traveling pros!
The entitlement wouid be through the roof as far too many people think that throwing money at you means they control you. I just don't see it as a good thing. And there are already pros who are fine with taking last minute appointments. That's their prerogative, and their right to do so. But it would be silly to try to write into the job description. Just work with people on scheduling something that works for the two of you. It's not an emergent thing. If you can't have it exactly to the letter of when you want it , then do it another time. It's not rocket science and it's not that deep, but some of yall act like this is a life or death situation. Many mountains being made of mole hills .
@pmvines No one is forcing anyone to use it. If you don’t like it don’t use it. Problem solved.
What will occasionally happen is someone like Elon Musk wants a cuddler and finds that no one is available except for $1000/hr and he says , “That’s fine with me. I’m Elon Musk. I get whatever I want because I’m special “. And then that pro makes $4000 which is probably enough to offer having to put up with that guy for 4 hours. And in this way the wealth divide shrinks ever so slightly.
Lol @Matt462
Don’t forget the spandex outfit.
@Rezz is absolutely right. It seems like people (ahem) forget who’s taking on most of the risk here. Last minute clients, esp. new ones, most likely aren’t looking for a cuddle so urgently that they’d pay surge pricing for it, they’re looking for something else.
I don’t know anyone who’s ever cuddled who was available on-call. I don’t see it ever happening-trust takes time to build and women are primarily the ones having to screen. Women aren’t going to prioritize money over life. We know what matters.
But to @dave31415 point-if Elon wanted to cuddle me for a couple thou an hr, yes I’d drop what I was doing to make myself available 😂
I am in agreement with the other pros here who have mentioned the heightened risk with last minute, “right now” appointments. I get these all the time, even though my bio on sites such as these usually mentions that I rarely have same day availability…the type of person looking for “right now” isn’t reading bios. I don’t even list it anymore, because the folks who are scrambling to get me to their hotel room at some obscene hour are not the people I want to see.
Most of these men are having a “penis emergency,” and as has been previously mentioned, the solution to such a malady is not offered on this site.
In my experience, the “right now” clients are always the most demanding, often under the influence, entitled, and don’t respect my time or the fact that I have a life and am not laying in wait to meet random people after midnight. Not to mention that the danger of assault statistically goes up after a certain time. Many sex workers do not work after a certain hour exclusively for this reason. I can’t imagine many pro cuddlers would do it either, except in exceptional circumstances (previous clients, established profiles, those willing to vet themselves on short notice). However, people meeting those criteria are more likely to plan ahead. It’s always the worst clientele who think this is Dial-A-Girl who send booking requests with zero introduction at the last minute.
@Rachel_P that’s been my experience too about last minute clients especially ones that are brand new to the site. And all of my repeat clients are very respectful of my time. That’s why I was kind of joking around and saying if they just need a hug I can meet them for five minutes in the park but that was kind of a joke. But you’re right even then they would want to meet you at 11 o’clock at night. Like we don’t have a life:(
A lot of my good trusted clients have very busy schedules themselves so if I was available and they called I would definitely do a session. But that would be the exception.
@Rachel_P Thank you for laying that out in clear terms to some of the guys who compare a 24/7 pro cuddler to a plumber or an Uber driver. Hopefully a speck of empathy creeps into their thinking from reading your post.
If you look, some professionals list these things in profile for late nights, last minutes, ECT.
I'm not a pizza you can order and be there within the hour, doesn't sound organic to me. Not counting all the wonderful points made as well.
Pass.
Last minute booking with someone you know is one thing, If I were a pro I would think 1st time clients wanting immediate booking would be a huge red flag.
No thank you, I have a life.
Strangely, I trust that a professional is well aware of the hazards of their profession, and doesn’t need me to coddle them, or wring my hands about those potential hazards.
I also trust that, as an adult human, people can take care of themselves, and provide for their own safety.
Drive safely everyone, as opposed to the way you normally drive without my encouragement…. 🙄

doesn’t need me to coddle them, or wring my hands about those potential hazards.
Does this apply to people who bemoan their fate in life and express their bitterness and disillusionment in every post? No one should coddle them right?
It’s not coddling. It is called support and everyone needs it in some form or the other whether it be verbally or in actions. Doesn’t matter who the person is. Women have far more to worry about from a man than a man does from a woman in a one-on-one situation. It hurts nothing to acknowledge this and to spread the word about what they face to men who obviously don’t get it when they write something.
Cuddler safety is paramount. I think one way to achieve this is to have last minute cuddles only possible for pre-qualified cuddlers. One would need to be on the site a certain amount of time and have a certain number of positive karma reviews (say 3) from established pros after in-person sessions to be eligible. The option would not appear otherwise. This would vet bad intent on both sides. I might use this option since I'm not the best planner TBH but my motives are pure.
You know, just reading through some of these comments shows how utterly intelligent some people are.
@KozyKim Exactly. The average type of person who would want a last minute public hug would see nothing off-putting about tightly squeezing a stranger after midnight in a darkened public park. Minus the consent, that sounds like a stepped-up version of Frotteurism to me…🙃 Graduating from a grope to a squeeze. 😆
All jokes aside, while I do believe that the original post was made in good faith, and that I’m sure there’s a desire for such services, lack of planning brings out the worst type of people. I’m sure that there are decent people who do reach out last minute…I’ve met one or two over the years…but that doesn’t negate the fact that it will bring out the unsavory types as well. I am a big believer that it’s all in the approach. A well crafted message with an up front apology for a last minute request and an introduction coupled with availability in my schedule might just result in me taking a last minute booking.
@Rachel_P That’s a pessimistic way of looking at it though. When I was young and naive and pushing the idea for something like Uber, everyone said that no one , especially no women would ever get into the car with a stranger; and that it would result in all sorts of sexual assaults.
But obviously that didn’t happen as often as pessimists thought and people became billionaires who didn’t listen to them. You can always find a problem with any idea and imagine bad things happening. But rather than throwing out the idea, you can instead just think of ways to prevent those bad things from happening and make the idea work.
Whenever there is a need in society not getting met, there is an opportunity for anyone figuring out how to meet it.
@dave31415

So yeah about that, there's a lawsuit against ride shares for women being sexually assaulted. https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/sexual-assault-abuse/texas-uber-lyft-driver-sexual-assault-lawsuit-investigation/
But Its ok because people became billionaires. 😐

@dave31415 Are you that unaware of the Uber sexual assault cases?
This is after the first reports two years previously. On top of the sexual assaults and rapes there were murders:
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2022/06/30/tech/uber-safety-report/index.html
But that aside, why are you telling a woman who is looking after her personal safety that she is “pessimistic” and she is looking at it the wrong way? That is one of the cringiest things I have read on here in ages.
@Everyone.
Keep it respectful and on-topic, please.
Carry on.
@Rachel_P you have such intelligent, thoughtful, and though out responses:)
@Rezz Sure it happens some. They are gigantic and serve the entire country. But it's still preventable and most people feel comfortable using Uber. It's obviously a successful product that has created enormous value even with it's flaws. And when there are problems like this, you don't say, "Ok, let's just shut down the company". You try to fix the problem. Some people are optimists and some are pessimists. The optimists however are the ones that create most of the value in the World.
The optimists however are the ones that create most of the value in the World.
That is a generalization (that optimists create the value in the world) based on a generalization (that people are either an optimist or a pessimist). There are flaws with that logic. In addition, who determines value? What are you defining as values? If you are saying ride an Uber and suffer a few rapes until the problem is solved because the people who made fortunes off of Uber will solve the problem then I am skeptical. All scientists and creators are skeptics. You have to be or you will create crap.
