Food and Drink festivals

I'm going to a couple in August. One of them is the Denver Burger Battle and the other is Chicken Fight Fest. Various small independent restaurants participate and we vote on who has the best food. Tickets are all inclusive. Everything is free inside the event. It might be a little expensive for those who don't consume alcohol. They don't offer a non-drinking option.

  • The fried chicken festival is gonna be at an amusement park. (It will be closed to the public and only open to ticket holders to that event). I can picture it now. Intoxicated people on roller coasters.

  • There’s beer and bbq festival in Reno on the 17th.

  • The burger festival is coming up in a little over a week. It's looking mighty tasty.

  • @BoomerSpooner - Including fees, I paid $170 for a ticket to get into the burger festival and $150 for the fried chicken festival. It's all inclusive though including all-you-can-drink booze.

  • The all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink fried chicken and booze festival is today. Looking forward to it. It's at an amusement park with unlimited rides and roller coasters. I wonder how well that will go with free flowing booze.

  • My boyfriend and I will be going to VegFest in Salt Lake, this year: https://slcveg.com/

We've previously gone to the ones in Vegas.

  • I went to the Bratwurst Festival in Bucyrus, OH the morning of the Columbus meet up last Saturday.

I also regularly attend the annual “Weekend of Fire” (Hot Sauce Festival) at Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield, OH (NW corner of Cincinnati). Beyond that, I try to hit a BlueBerry festival in Northern Indiana each fall.

  • I went to a jumbo cook off earlier in the year....I was in heaven!!

  • I go to the American Royal World Series of Barbecue held here in Kansas City every year. It is the largest BBQ festival in the world and I go with friends and family even though I don’t eat meat and I don’t get any pudding. The smell is incredible and can be detected a few miles away. It is held near the old stockyards and has over 500 teams competing.

  • @BoomerSpooner - that is my type of festival, I may have to plan a trip to KC next year for that.

  • @JohnR1972 Oh dear God, I would love a hot sauce festival! 🔥

  • I just purchased a ticket for the Grilled Cheese & Mac Festival next month. $125 including fees for 4 hours of unlimited food and booze.

  • The Grilled Cheese & Mac Festival sounds incredible! 🧀

The VegFest in Utah was delish! I got a vegan Arby's beef 'n cheddar knockoff, my boyfriend got street tacos, we wandered around chatting at the booths, checked out the vendors, listened to live music, got some scrumptious cinnamon rolls and cookies, and collected lots of free swag!

Then my boyfriend headed back to Wyoming and I stayed the rest of the week to hang out with friends and get my cuddle on. 😊

Austin just had it's hot sauce festival earlier this month.

  • @TxTom And you didn't invite me?! Where's the love, man! Don't make me send you hate mail.

There was a hot sauce festival here I really wanted to go to. I tried for two years to find someone willing to go with me, but alas, I failed. I console myself that I still have plenty of hot sauce in my fridge to last for another year, and who knows, maybe one day I'll make a friend who also likes hot sauce? fingers crossed

  • @Concordiaesque I apply!

omgs I want to try that so bad /me wipes drool.

  • The all inclusive booze and burger fest sounds worth it's weight in gold if you enjoy a shit show, which I occasionally do. My local food festivals are bougie and lame. You pay to get in to a fenced off public space so you can pay again at a silly markup for a roach coach taco. And there's a heavy police presence yum.
Hope you have a marvelous time Mike, whatever that ends up being 😂

Heading to Oktoberfest here in WA this weekend. Last yeast the food vendors were amazing hoping to get the same experience

  • They have a lot of different whiskeys at the Mac and Cheese Festival. They're free and will serve peope as much as they want within reason of course
