In the USA, we celebrate πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ pride in June, especially.

When do you celebrate πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ pride?

  • In the UK it's also about now. There was a huge Pride march in London the other day.

Yes, America’s β€œPride Month” πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ is June. In July in the USA we celebrate Independence Day on the 4th of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

  • I’m in the US, but my city moved the biggest pride parade to July, so it feels like pride month hasn’t ended here 😁

  • @warm_embrace why quote marks around pride month?

Back in the 90s, I served in the Navy with several LGBTQ sailors who had to stay hidden and in the closet because of the idiotic β€œdon’t ask don’t tell” policy in place. I always think of them when July 4th rolls around. They were among the best out country had to offer, and were not allowed to exist as themselves by their country. They were true patriots, and warrant an extension of pride.
