Does anyone enjoy verbal or virtual cuddling?

Sometimes when I am stressed, uptight, or anxious, all I need is someone to talk to me about cuddles. Having someone describe how he would hold me, actions, and have wonderful things to talk about is an instant stress reliever. No need to travel, no awkward meet ups, no concerns about safety. I could do this everyday. Anyone else?

  • @sweetrosie I am actually the opposite. If I need physical touch, because I am fighting any of the psychological states that you mentioned, a conversation about cuddling would distinctly remind me that I am not. In turn fanning the flames of those psychological states. If I am in a good state of mind I wouldn't mind doing that for someone else though.

  • Don't worry, it's not just you! I call it 'telecuddling'. There is a sticky thread at the top of the Professional Cuddling board which has links to a lot of other threads about this, which you may find interesting.

Some professionals offer this as one of their services. Others offer online companionship, which is an equally valuable but entirely different thing. Sadly they often use the term 'virtual cuddling' to describe virtual companionship, which is needlessly confusing.

Ignore any comments you may see to the effect of "there is no such thing as virtual cuddling". The authors are unable to distinguish between "I haven't done it" and "it doesn't exist".

When done properly, telecuddling is a very powerful alternative to physical cuddling. For some people, or in some circumstances, it may even be better.
