Hey everyone! I will be visiting friends in Seattle Washington this September and it will be my first ever visit there. Are there any must see sights or attractions?
The Starbucks meca… not the original building. They have a store with 3 coffee bars, 1 regular bar and a cafe.

Get someone who can drive a jeep to take you into the mountains. Some great views and huge trees. A friend showed me around it was amazing. The Space Needle is cool too

The fish toss at the market (don't forget to pet the pig), and the Boeing plant is awesome sauce! The Space Needle is fun, too. And while you're there, you might as well make the short trip to Vancouver.
@TxTom excellent suggestion…I fogot that my friend took me into Vancouver and she showed me where they shot the Jackie Chan movie Rumble in the Bronx.

Some of my favorites; Snoqualmie falls, Alki beach, Kirkland lake side, waterfront at Seattle downtown and if are ready to drive then city of Leavenworth and Paradise at Mount Rainier. The list goes on and on.
The Woodland Park Zoo is really beautiful, with lovely habitats and various species grazing together, so awesome!
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed Gas Works Park. It has a really cool steampunk vibe to it.
The Seattle Japanese Garden is small but super lush and pretty!
@newme27 has some excellent suggestions if you have extra time available - Snoqualmie Falls is gorgeous (and barely off the highway!), and Leavenworth is an adorable little Bavarian town!
Also if you have extra time, Lake Crescent is my dream home location! The water is phenomenally pure and turquoise.

The rainforests of Olympic National Park are amazing. I think I just love rainforests, though. They also have hot springs baths which are another love of mine.
I hear they like to drink coffee
Pike Place fish market is entertaining.
Hit up cafe turko in freemont from some great Turkish food, see the troll under the bridge, then go to gas works park and bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the view of the city. Once your done there either book a hot tub boat or head to the Starbucks reserve and have a coffee flight or some of the whiskey barrel aged cold brew.
I recommend finding art and nature to get a good sense of the city. It’s easy to get culled into tourist traps and pay too much to experience nothing. The best experiences are probably going to be things locals frequent (not Starbucks, unless you want to join on the picket line…). Live music, farmers markets, art galleries, beaches and parks… you aren’t more than 45 minutes-a couple hours from alpine views/rainforest/ocean…
Edit to add: September can have a lot of wildfire smoke, bring respirators if you have sensitive lungs/asthmatic etc.
Gasworks is a solid recommendation. If you like parks, I'd also recommend Volunteer Park / Lakeview cementery - there's seattle asian museum and several great viewpoints inside and around the park, and within walkable distance to Interlaken Park and the Arboretum. Easy to bundle with brunch w/ friends or family on that neighborhood.
Assuming good weather, I'd suggest renting a kayak or canoe on UW (or agua verde) and takind advantage of the lakes. Easy to bundle with a visit to Gasworks, etc.
If you have to visit tourist landmarks, Pike Place market is the obvious stop - in a good weather get a salmon / halibut sandwich on the fish markets and take your lunch to the common tables above Old Stove Brewing and enjoy the view for free. If you can do this on a sunny weekday, you won't regret it.
Skip the tourist traps (starbucks mecca, beecher's, etc) on the market - except for Orange Dracula. Do not skip Orange Dracula. The chicken will know.
