@CDE123 I missed that part entirely. AND WHAT?! Okay, so that's some just insane mind bending crap... Why on earth...my head hurts... I'm stepping out. You're right. I can't handle this right now... need to work.

    @everyone hugs. :)

  • @cde123 - Did somebody suggest taking a paid cuddler to dinner? Sorry if I miss something else that was said.. (I'm working..haha) Platonic cuddling and dating is on a different planet. I only made that comparison because they both involve some levels of touch.

The idea that someone would take a paid cuddler to dinner so they wouldn't need to pay is such an interesting contradiction. The male ego expresses itself in so many unusual ways.

@cde123 The male ego is easy to use as an excuse for so many things when sometimes the male ego has absolutely nothing to do with it. It fails to take into account long held societal expectations and behaviors inculcated from birth. For example, I grew up in a VERY military environment during war time and then peace time. We were told by others if you are waiting for a thank you you are in the wrong place. You just do things without expectations of reward. What that did to me and others that came up from that environment is instill a very noticeable awkwardness in accepting kind gestures, acts, compliments and simple thank yous. I am still unlearning that. I think anyone who can’t accept kindness from a woman because of ego has other issues.

    I’d like to offer this:

I think it sucks that “I” even have to consider looking to pay to feel the touch of another person. It makes “ME” feel a certain way about m life and condition. I think it’s great that it’s available to people. “I” wish i never felt the need to discover this site. But that’s not the case, so whatever… capitalism or whatever it is.

Making money from peoples bodies is as old as industry. Making money off intellect property is new. So let’s consider that. Selling one’s body may be the oldest self initiated profession but selling bodies and what those bodies can do is much older, I’m sure.

Generally speaking people who whine about capitalism are those who are failing at it.

I think that’s how it works, whether your feel your failing or not there tends to always be someone on the winning more than the other. Good for you if you’re doing well, but for me i do fine, i can just recognize how the system works. I live like money grows on trees, so i don’t keep a lot often, i am still very particular about where i throw it.

Please notice i am speaking for myself, not for anyone else. Based on my experience, perspective and feelings. If it don’t apply, let it fly.

  • I am not going to address our economic system. I am going to address the notion that the human connection in a paid situation is somehow “less than.” That is not my experience. I have had sessions with two pros, a few times with one of them. I found them to be caring, nurturing, attentive and emotionally generous. At the end of the day, you are two humans sharing time and space together. In that situation, some will connect well, and some less well. Money does not sully that. At the end of the day, it is just paper, or now some sort of ethereal digital thingy. I feel very fortunate to have met both of these women.

I think some men have a sense of entitlement that there should be women to attend to our emotional needs, that the world owes this to us and we shouldn’t have to pay for it. Life has taught me that the world doesn’t owe me shit, but it is bountiful and full of blessings if one approaches it with respect and gratitude.

This is poetry in motion. Well done. Thank you for this. Now once more for the guys in the back.

  • @KansasDad Well said. It is different for everyone. I am with you that money does not sully the session and I enjoy it for what it is.

However, if you are someone that is isolated and in dire need of human touch but scraping by financially, money is naturally a stressor. So for many people it is hard to separate the stress of money from the purpose of the session. Part of this is naturally human, but it is also as @BashfulLoner pointed out the winners and losers inherent in a capitalist system.

I see both views of professional cuddling and I have no solutions to the problem other than people being honest and explaining their situations and seeing if agreements can be reached voluntarily between pro and client without the pro being coerced into offering cheaper sessions or even the client having the expectation of such. But discourse can’t hurt.

  • @stormydaycuddle - OMG, I LOVE RAINBOW CONNECTION!!!!! Here's what a nerd I am - I have played that song before...on hand bells...and there were only 2 of us, WE ROCKED IT!!!!

  • @Motorbaby I've listened to it like 20x today. LOL.

  • @KansasDad well said.

I am a person that would like to always have my emotional needs fully filled. I am a person whose needs are not fulfilled. I am grateful for whatever i get.

  • Maybe, just maybe, we could be considerate of someone’s feelings instead of immediately judging and ridiculing since this is supposed to be a supportive community?

  • @yh121 🤗 Thank you.

@yh121 we are a supportive community. But it is true that we're not supportive to people whose first post is to attack us.

  • Maybe, just maybe, we could be considerate of someone’s feelings instead of immediately judging and ridiculing since this is supposed to be a supportive community?

There wasn’t much of that going on and you should probably read everything in the thread particularly the last two pages. It was a discussion and a mod did chime in to clarify with the OP on some points. If there was true ridicule of the OP the mods would shut it down. I think the ridicule at the beginning was directed at the predictability of where a thread of this type normally goes to rather than at the OP.

  • Oh....just realized that I've gotten this all wrong. I thought the price quoted was what PROs paid ME. Do I have to return all their monies and redo MY taxes?

People are missing the part where capitalism reared its head and started ruining human connection in just the last couple of years. This hit song, written by Samara Joy for her sophomore album illustrates my point perfectly.

(For some reason, I can only link to a remake.)

Hmm. Let me think... because the post wasn't cuddly about kittens, happiness and world peace. So my response wasn't cuddly. There's going to be disagreement and debate if you post about topics not everyone agrees with. There JUST IS. SO... I guess my question is why would someone post something one so sided and expected it not to be disagreed with?
Are we as a society supposed to just be that passive. Especially, when capitalism isn't kittens and the post was skewed to one side. So instead of getting on others for disagreeing... maybe... just maybe... we should be allowed to debate without starting real fights. Because saying what was said (by a commenter not OP) was what makes it combative. Calling for cuddliness and blind acceptance in posts that are clearly neither themselves is at least simplifying and at worst willful censorship of others opinions.

    Hugs.

  • edited August 2023

The post wasn't about "How many kittens do you have" the post WAS skewed to a personal opinion so people are going to respond with their own. If people don't want commentary by posting in public things like this and we are all just supposed to blindly understand an accept I really don't want to see the world where that exists.

SO... until people realize that these posts aren't butterflies and rainbows with skittles.... and stop posting them. There will be other people responding... Or even following their own hero values and responding in an upset way.

EDIT: I'm actually going to amend this by saying I actually don't think people need to STOP posting these entirely. I think that if they are here then so are the opinions of others. So not after the OP for the post in and of itself or even personally.

  • @stormydaycuddle - I'll try to make this post a little more cuddly.

  • edited August 2023

People think that if they don't disagree with it it was a simple easy peasy statement or question when in fact it is highly debatable. Just because YOU don't disagree doesn't mean other people don't... and they don't have to accept it. Just don't. Its so funny how people are so nailed down they can't see how there isn't another side. Just because you're nailed down doesn't mean it was soooooooo benign... it wasn't.

GD people wake up and smell the differential or post about kittens and you won't be disagreed with.

You do get to be as nailed to your opinions as you want. A lot of my opinions don't change but I do have to realize people in a public format are allowed to tell me so if I make my opinions public.

  • @stormydaycuddle the OP didn’t skew anything it was clearly stated. I don’t think anyone has to accept someone’s opinion, you can even state a counterpoint. But anything that is demeaning to a person or an idea is what i read is happening alot. I may just be overly sensitive to others posts when i feel they are getting piled on. Don’t get me wrong, i don’t agree with everything i read, but i also don’t feel the need to convince anyone about anything. Like my position or don’t, i have things to do.

I also don’t need to defend my perspective because no one can see from where i sit. I don’t think any of you all need to defend yourselves either.

Anyway, I’m looking for a good pedicure place today. What should i avoid?

  • edited August 2023

@BashfulLoner opinions are always skewed. Hero values are a thing. So I do see how one person doesn't see it as highly skewed and another does. I wasn't combative until the post was made that told us we should accept it. Rudely put. So I'm responding in kind now.

As for the other question... anywhere that doesn't put plastic liner in the spa tub.

Also, not mad at you. My tone has clearly changed... and that reason isn't you. I'm not happy now whereas earlier I simply disagreed. I'm going to take a second.

Also, its not just about the OP anymore. A lot of comments have been made. This has expanded beyond them. Still on topic but it isn't all directed at them.

The "Rant over" ending should indicate that it is an opinion because if it wasn't there would be no rant.

  • All is fair in love and cuddles, maybe.

But no plastic liner? I guess that does demonstrate a possible lack of cleanliness but is there another reason?

  • @stormydaycuddle 💯. Those who accept everything without question or disagreement I am highly suspicious of because in my experience these are the most judgmental people in person who use the internet to make them feel better about themself. They are a Saint online and a devil in person.

  • @BoomerSpooner - If I was in hell, they'd put me on the throne and the devil would be sent packing.

  • edited August 2023

@BoomerSpooner I'm going to disagree with that a tiny bit. Some people do think there's nothing wrong with no debate because their view points that may not be seen as negative TO THEM, and were just raised with world peace in their own world view and might not be meant with malice (the comment above was combative) but I do think some people aren't quite connecting the disconnect... in general you're right.

My mouse and keyboard have decided to spaz the hell out... so sorry for all the edits... I keep posting when I mean to edit etc. I need to plug it in or find something else.

@BashfulLoner this isn't toward what you said. I don't think you live in your own world.

  • @stormydaycuddle - When I worked in the office, I was having PC issues and I told my boss that I have a dead mouse on my desk and he thought I meant the actual rodent.

  • @BashfulLoner Doesn't matter how clean it appears to be... and I don't believe its wrong to think we've scrubbed something down enough. Feet have sooooo many things.... soo many. I wouldn't say don't trust the people there... just think of it as possible human error could happen

  • At the risk of over posting on this... @ The OP. I'm glad you're here. I heavily disagree with what you said however I do NOT mean for it to come across as thinking that your feelings are unimportant. You weren't the one with combative comment OR even the part I was uppity with in the first place. I hope you've been able to find what you were looking for in this post even though it is a debate and a lot of it was directed at others not necessarily just you. Hugs.

  • I agree with @BoomerSpooner, dating and cuddling are entirely two separate concepts.
