Can please I know why sometimes an account is paused is the account holder doing something wrong. So we can avoid him/ her . Thanks
Account is likely paused due to CC payment not being processed.
Yes, what @JaneDough_ said. If someone is trying to charge for cuddling, and they aren't a pro yet, those accounts get paused, as well.
An account being Paused does not necessarily mean that the person has done something wrong and you should not avoid accounts just because they have previously been Paused. No harm no foul.
For example, as @JaneDough mentioned, if a professionanal's credit card has expired and the site attempt to collect payment fails, the account may be Paused. At the moment of Pausing the person may not even know something has gone wrong, particularly if they have not been monitoring their messages for some reason. It normally takes a few days to get such a thing sorted out, at which point the account is unpaused.
There are other possible reasons too, as @SoftHairForDays said. Some people who try to charge without registering as a professional know exactly what they are doing, but many others are just over-zealous to get started and haven't quite figured out how the site works.
It's fine to say to somebody, "I noticed that you account was Paused last week, what was all that about?" Obviously they are not obliged to convey details of their account history to you, but their response is likely to convey more to you about them than the mere fact of Pausing.
I had this happen due to payment with my card on the way to a session, and the client couldn’t reach me. He told me he thought he had been ghosted and blocked.
Nope. Just an issue with a card replacement and non-updated information. I was frantically updating my info in the car so I could contact this person.
Sometimes, it’s just technical difficulties and poor timing.
Yup, I had this happen a couple weeks ago as I was trying to get ready for our NorCal picnic meetup 😅 my bank had put a pause on my card for "suspicious charges" due to CC being a UK company, even though I'd used the card previously 🤦🏻♀️ so I had to frantically transfer money from one bank to another to get the payment to go through since it was after customer service hours and I needed to be able to message and post, damnit! 🤣
Sometimes automated banking systems are incredibly stupid.
@cuddlefaery @Rachel_P - I believe the website should send an email if a payment didn't go through and give a grace period of a day or two to fix it before suspending your account. It probably sucks if you have a session that day and are keeping all messages on the site (which is recommended) and don't have any other contact info for the client.
@Mark @Gary
@Mike403 they do, and they retry payment a couple times.
