Los Angeles Non-Cuddle Meetup?

I see cuddle meetups pop up from time to time, but I'm always a fan for starting with a non-cuddle function to get to know people in your local cuddle community before hopping into their arms.  Would anyone be interested in going to an event such as a museum meetup or bowling etc?  Something non-invasive to form those first impressions.  It could be a nice jumping off point for pros to meet new clients, as well as non pros to meet other non pros.  Or just making new friends in the cuddle life.  

Post here your thoughts, opinions, and possible ideas for meetups!

I think the Norton Simon Museum has a free evening on the first Friday of each month.  However, a problem with a museum meetup is that I think people would have a tendency to pay attention to the exhibits making it less likely to get to know each other as well as with some other activities.  Bowling would probably work quite well, except for me.  I can no longer bowl due to neck, back, and knee injuries.  A walk through the Arroyo Seco might be nice, or a hike up past JPL where it is pretty level.  A game day or night would be fun with everyone bringing their favorite game, maybe at a park.  I recommend Farnsworth Park in Altadena, which is a very nice park.  I think I like the game day idea the best.  I always play cards at Carl's Jr on N Lake in Pasadena on the first Sunday of every month with buddies I met on the set of Deadwood, and I'm sure we would all welcome more players.  That is this Sunday, BTW, and I should be there between 10:30 and 11am so I can order from their breakfast menu.  We will probably be there till 6pm or later.

@cuddledingo that is a good idea. I am the type of person who would feel a little awkward and intimidated just jumping head first into a cuddle party. I don't do crowds very well. and I'm actually really pretty shy with meeting new people. I am very thankful for the people on here who I have gotten to know and friendships i have made, but in all honesty if the context were different and i were at a function or a party, i would have never known them because i am sure i would have been too uncomfortable to approach them lol.  So for me something where you can feel people out and have other things to focus on and do if you start to get nervous or something would be helpful.

Good ideas above, Jim.  I did a museum meetup with 3 different groups of friends a few weeks ago and they all mingled and got to know one another and became friends afterward, so I've seen the museum angle work.  It gives you a built in something to talk about so it's not that awkward "what do we talk about" vibe.  I love card and board games... what do y'all play?

@pmvines - Exactly why I think something like this would be less intimidating than a cuddle party. I feel it's pressure enough to meet new friends, but add on top of that the layer of insecurity toward who to cuddle or who will want to cuddle and those parties, I assume, could be awkward for some people in a room full of strangers. Public non-cuddle get-togethers could be a good place to make friends in the community to build in a comfort level for cuddle parties.

Anyway, doesn't seem like a whole lot of interest.  If things change, I'll plan something.  Until then... keep on cuddlin'

There were 5 of us playing Hearts on Sunday.  We also played Casino, Golf, and a game I don't know the official name of, but we call it Flip.  At other times we have played Spades and Canasta.  Feel free to drop by there any first Sunday, and maybe teach us a new game.  I was hoping that someone from here would have shown up this past Sunday, but no one did.
