@Charlie_Bear - If you have a developer account with Meta, you can install unlicensed apps on the Quest 2. It's called sideloading. I haven't looked for an emulator yet so I couldn't tell you if it works.
Hearing about the CDI makes me think of those God awful cutscenes I used to laugh my ass off to back in middle school
@Mike403 Ah yeah sideliading, that’s what it was. I had done that and there was a virtual boy emulator on these. It was so awesome ☺️

@Charlie_Bear - I'm not sure why they'd ban since the feature is part of the headset. If they wanted to be pricks, they might take away developer access if they determine that you're not an actual developer. 🤣
I loved my Nintendo Gameboy and Sega Dreamcast.
@Mike403 I was mainly using it to load custom songs for Beat Saber. I had just read Meta was quick to ban people and they were losing their entire game libraries as a result, which is crazy.
@PrettyLuv I love both of those. The Dreamcast should have sold better, I’m so sad it didn’t get the life it deserved.
@JohnR1972 Would you believe I actually still have my TI-99/4A to this day? (Although I haven't switched it on in a million years.) My folks wouldn't let me have a gaming system, so I always had to go to a friend's house to play Atari, or Pole Position on his Commodore 64.
@Charlie_Bear - I always tether mine to my gaming PC these days which gives me way more control. The Meta VR app on PC isn't required. Anything can use the VR headset directly.
Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR(PC only) is awesome.

@stormydaycuddle - It also used expensive proprietary memory cards and the system was practically useless without it as it had no internal storage.
@JohnR1972 wow - that thing looks like one of the very first computers. That’ll be an antique one day! If not already. My TI-89 looks nothing like that but I used to love watching it plot functions for me. My first GPT. Couldn’t stand matlab but loved TI. Hehe
Wow!!! I love video games, but I have never even heard of some of these systems you mentioned!!! I think it’s so cool that you’ve obtained a lot of them!!! I loved the virtual boy! My brother in law had one and brought it over so we could try it! I thought it was the coolest thing!!! It was just red and black, virtual 3D awesomeness!!! I loved the Warrio game on it!!! With the swinging huge spike balls coming at you! It was really amazing!!! Now with how obscure the consoles you mentioned were, I can see why the Sega Dreamcast didn’t make your list! But I absolutely had so many hours of fun battling it out in Rush 2049 with my buddies on the Dreamcast! I loved the Sonic game on there as well!!! I thought it was a great system but for some reason it was so short lived !!! Great post!!!

@PrettyLuv - I’m not sure of the official definition of “antique” (I read somewhere it meant at least 50 years old but it seems like the threshold would vary from one product category to another). Regardless, I would love to still have a working TI-99 or my old Commodore 64 that replaced it.
@TxTom - That is awesome. I haven’t played one since somewhere around 1988 but I remember an Alpine Mountain climbing game where you tried to reach the top of the mountain while avoiding hazards. Wow, life in general was a lot simpler back then.

@MavReborn I am on a mission to obtain every console and handheld I wanted from my childhood but could never get since I had no money to buy them 😅 Christmas provided the main consoles though, thankfully. Since I still have a CRT television (they just hit different when played on an analog display), my primary goals are to mod them to output RGB so I can get the best analog picture quality, drop in any quality-of-life mods to enhance the console, and get a flash cart or optical disc emulator because I do not have the space to have all my games out. My collection and goals are almost entirely complete!

@Charlie_Bear you might want to consider the JVC XEYE basically a Sega genesis with a CD so it’s more of a novelty piece but one that you should get I feel as the turbo duo! Great collection by the way!

@lonelytauros I have seen that XEYE and that’s really cool. I don’t have my Sega cd hooked up since it doesn’t fit (it’s the version that pairs with the Genesis model 2, no tower of power for me). I have the Model 1, 2, and 3 of the Genesis, so if I had the Sega CD model 1 and the XEYE I think I’d have every Genesis And attachment out there lol. As for the turbo duo, that is really cool too! I was considering going for that one.

I think I am going to skip trying to get the CD-i. It is way too expensive for such a garbage console 😅
