Let's see some images from your childhood. Not pictures of yourself but of things that had impacts or influences in your younger years.
I spent a lot of time playing video games and watching wrestling.
I spent a lot of time in my room looking out my window at Astroland (you can almost see the Parachute Jump hidden behind the building on the right) and reading books. Don't need to share a picture of books - I would hope you all know what books look like :P
@Concordiaesque Well what books? You can post a pic of your favorite ones from your childhood 😁
@lonelytauros Old school gamer I see
Most of me growing up, I didn’t go outside much.😅
@delightedone same here! I remember Math Blaster lol
Lol @Jova114 i spent countless hours playing that game😮💨. This was the era before I got my first gaming console.
@delightedone lol my dad was big into computers so he would get us games on there. He had a program that had a lot of Atari games so I got to play things like Asteroid and Cenetipede
One of the first games I had for my first computer I had when I was a young kid. You build a circuit to kick targets and if only the correct targets are kicked, Rocky(the Racoon) comes out and does a dance.
@Mike403 Aww look at Rocky. I can see this game being interesting
@Jova114 - Yeah, it was an educational game meant to teach digital circuits to children. I had a lot of fun with it back then.
@Mike403 thats a really cool concept for a kids game.
@carrieanne What a classic!
@carrieanne my favorite movie! Moral of the story is 2 women fighting over a pair of shoes.
Oh this is such a cute idea. Like a collage.
@PrettyLuv I love that yours has both Sailor Moon and Egyptian hieroglyphics
@JollyLumberjack lol wow never thought of it that way, but so true. I took this thread (after looking at the pictures) as posting a movie or show from our childhood and that’s the first image I saw.
And THIS! I was maybe 7 and decades later it’s so ingrained in my brain. This was the first Adult book I read at 9.
@carrieanne I left it to be open to whatever your childhood image you wanted to put. TV, movies, books, games, places etc
I just love seeing the diversity in this community As well as the connections some of us have
@Jova114 Agreed, our community diversity provides a historical /current/future education in itself.
@carrieanne That's why I love these forums And make so many internet slowing ones 😇
@carrieanne I’ve never watched Gone with the Wind but now I’m curious…
Not trying to make any judgements, just sharing something which influenced my choices growing up:
@RadiantHugs Lol reminds me of D.A.R.E.
@delightedone its a classic definitely. Well i don’t know how younger people now would relate to it but it’s definitely about very strong women so for that reason first, I recommend it. For history and different perspectives, endurance, war romance. The book has so much more than the movie. Start with the movie though. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you do so pm me any time!!
Yeah I was a big Gamer and wrestling fan in my younger years too. Still am naturally.
Gotta love British child's tv too 😅
@DaveTheBrit The old Smackdown game...oh....memories!!!!
@MrAdmirer Yes!!!! The force is strong with you my friend!
@Concordiaesque Were you able to go Astroland often?
@CuddleHugs01234 I'd walk by it often on my way to Nathan's - my family went there a lot, especially in the winter. Then we'd walk on the beach where the sand is compacted by the waves and I'd look for seashells and throw pieces of my hot dog bun to the seagulls. I have this photo of my aunt on one of the rides
But if I was ever on any of the rides, I was too young to remember.
