Wolf Rain
Vinland Saga
Parasite the Maxim

I want to watch Cowboy Bebop one day.

  • Death note is still my favorite anime. A friend spoke very highly about Kaiji being on the same level as death note so I just started watching it. Samurai champloo and ghost in the shell are in my top 15 list as well.

What's Kaiji about? My favourite would be Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt. Samurai champloo and Ghost in the Shell are amazing. I love the Ed theme of Samurai Champloo - Shiki no Uta

  • Kaiji’s about gambling. That’s all I can tell you here. Wow! thought I was the only one who loved Shiki no uta. One of my favorite takeaways from Samurai Champloo.

Nice. It sounds like something I'd like. Nujabes was legendary. (RIP)

'The sun will rise and we’ll bid farewell to forever
All our happiness will only be a dream
Oh, darling, won't you stay with me?
'Cause all these seasons aren't the same without you
In the darkest times you’d always light the way
    So, darling, won’t you stay?

    Flowers start to dance
    Welcoming the spring time
    The fields, endless
The summer’s bringing on the sunshine
    Dazzling moonlight
Just wishing you were here this autumn night
    Should winter arrive
I’ll still be waiting for a sign"

  • I love Death Note and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Most of the Studio Ghibli movies - I thought Miyazaki's new movie The Boy and the Heron was a bit of a letdown in a similar way The Green Knight was. The music of Joe Hisaishi is just magical.

    Other than those, I've enjoyed...

    • Food Wars (my favorite!)
    • Assassination Classroom
    • Ouran High School Host Club
    • Vampire Knight
    • Maid Sama!
    • Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?
    • High School DxD
    • Plunderer
    • Fruits Basket
    • Kiss Him, Not Me
    • Kamisama Kiss

Half of them may be Shojo anime. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • One Piece
    Naruto
    Death Note
    Sheild Hero
    Full Metal Alchemist
    Re: Zero
    One Punch Man

Those are some of my favorites

  • +1 to Kaiji and Ghost in the Shell original movie.
Two anime movies I really enjoy are Paprika and Mind Game. They are cerebral but fun. A Chinese anime series I enjoyed recently is Link Click.

  • @bobadevotee, the council has heard your specific criteria and offers:

    Mo Dao Zu Shi
    Heaven Officials' Blessing

Both of which are by a Chinese author so I'm not sure they're considered anime... but they definitely meet your requirement and they're also really compelling stories!

  • @bekah_cuddles Assassination Classroom was my jam! I never expected to be so emotional by the end.

    Ouran was fun!

I applaud the bravery to just put High School DXD on your list LOL

  • @frequentnapper I thought it was fun! 😉

  • @frequentnapper I actually binged a few episodes of heavens official blessing last night before I even saw this comment, and I’m disappointed it took 5 whole episodes for anything remotely gay to happen

Apparently the donghua is significantly more gay, but censorship is messing with the anime. Example, one episode has Hua Cheng fall and land like 5 feet away from Xie Lian, but in the donghua, he landed on top of him 😭 but in straight anime, I know they’d never censor that. Unfair

    @AJVasquez nice
    @bobadevotee fair
@Sunflower_Cat nice choices. Though I could never watch Naruto haha
@bekah_cuddles great choices in Studio Ghibli movies.
@lesmis33 nice. I'll check out those movies. I actually ended up watching some random Chinese anime on Karl Marx once.

  • @bobadevotee I mean I didn't go looking specifically for gay content, those two shows are just good on their own and happened to have it. The author is definitely limited by the country's censorship, though, you're right about that for sure.

  • @Harry01996 Evangelion is quite an experience. Initially just seems like a Mecha versus Kaiju extravaganza - and yeah, it's that too - but ends up getting way deeper than you'd expect with psychology, philosophy, and religious mysticism.

    Naruto
    Ouran High School Host Club
    Chobits
    Sword Art Online
    Bleach
    Black Butler
    JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
    Elfen Lied
    Claymore

  • I never was a fan of anime but I was exploring genres and my god, what an interesting show. This is on the streaming service Crunchyroll.

  • @Mike403 lol I'ma HAVE TO check that out

  • Pretty much anything that would come on Toonami, since I grew up watching those. But a non Toonami anime I love is Gokusen. I also grew up watching Love Hina (as well as reading all of the mangas) and I practically lived online watching AMV’s lol.

And don’t ask me why but whenever I think of all of my favorite Anime’s I then think of Gaia Online and Homestar Runner (again I lived online), but it also could’ve just been because I was playing on those sites at the same time I was watching Anime non-stop.

    Currently rewatching One Piece.

  • Some people in this thread aren't even trying to hide their power levels lmao.
