What is your happiest memory?

When i first meet people one of the first things i like to know is what is their happiest memory.
If you could look back at your life and punpoint a moment of true and utter happiness what would it be?

For me the happiest i have been are the moments i feel alive and genuine human connection.
Moments where i can lay my soul out bare and know that i am seen and able to see the same vulnerablity in someone else.
Finding the exact moment is hard for me though. But when those moments happen i am aware in the moment that that's what they are. My happiest and more cherished memories.

Please tell me some of yours, i need some things to be make me smile really badly right now.

  • Well, happiest moments is always when I get to connect with myself and have no worries but which song to listen to and preferably I'm by the beach. I find that I often give to others so is great when I get to refocus on myself.

Some of the ones that I can think of off the top of my head right now was when we were kids we’d fall asleep on the couch with the TV on it was like the best sleep ever I remember when my mom and dad divorced my dad bought the house right behind my moms so that we would still be able to see him without having to Travel and so we would just jump over the wall to go to his house and I remember the days in the fall where the skies were so blue and the clouds were the big white puffy clouds and there was such a nice cool breeze during that time of the year I’ll never forget those days.

I also remember when we were kids, we’d be outdoors the majority of the time whether it be playing baseball outside or launching our model rockets or racing our RC cars or drinking from the garden hose whatever it was we were always outside until the street lights came on, and then we had to go home I’ll never forget my neighborhood

As we got older, this would be in the beginning of high school we started spending a little bit more time indoors playing board games and video games because this was the heyday of the Sega Genesis and super Nintendo and so it was a very exciting time for Video Games and we had a place called the warehouse which was similar to blockbuster video where you could pretty much rent Video Games/movies (we had VHS tapes back then) and that’s what we would do on the weekends. It was a nice time.

  • @Silvana77 I'm very glad you get the chance to refocus on yourself and just exist. It's good to give but knowing when to stop and relax is so important. The beach often makes me feel at peace too.
If i may ask, which songs do you like to listen to during those times?

  • Family dinners and game nights. Everyone would get together at my grandparents and we'd do a burrito bar then follow it up with board or card games. My grandpa would have to park his car outside because we all wouldn't fit in the house. They'd put up anywhere from 2-4 folding tables and we'd take over the garage for the night.

Also falling asleep on my great aunties shoulder in church growing up. My auntie that had custody of me would yell at me my great auntie would look at her and say "oh she's fine" then pat my head so I knew it was okay to lay it back down and close my eyes 🤣🤣

  • @Bunniedoll depends on my mood can be to remind me of a person or something with a good beat. I am a Ricky Martin fan so, he's always part of play list 😂

  • @lonelytauros you have a way of deciscibing things that make it play out vividly in my head. Thank you for allowing me a glimpse into your childhood. Reading this made me smile.

I had a childhood that I prefer to not talk about. As an adult, my happiest memories usually stem from the simpler things. Not anything too ground breaking or seemingly significant. More so a feeling that is tied into something is the thing I remember most. Memories are just moments after all, and the feelings those moments create when we think of them is what makes them worthwhile. Just things like the feeling I get when I'm in the presence of someone who loves me and I feel it. Like knowing that if tonight were the last night on earth I'd leave with a smile and full heart. I love the feeling of knowing I'm missed by someone. I don't feel that way often, but it makes me swell with humility and a desire to never give them a reason to regret missing me . I also love the feeling of laughter when with those I love and care for.

  • That is a tough question, so many to choose from. If related to this site, it would be the very 1st cuddle I had was with a Pro. I was so nervous and I told her that and she helped me to feel so comfortable that I ended up falling asleep while we were in tight embrace and she even dozed off for a little bit. I never have an issue with my cuddle partner dozing off as it makes me feel good that they are that comfortable with me.

  • Being on the windward side of Oahu with my father alone for six weeks in 1964. He died when I was 17 and stuffed a lot into those 17 years fathering me. I'm lucky that way. I had a cool dad.

  • I also had a pretty sucky childhood filled with bullying so there's little to choose from there. But that's not important right now.

If anything, I'd say when I was in a relationship with someone from the Netherlands. While it lasted it made the happiest moments of my life and when I first truly felt loved and wanted for real.

The first cuddle session from here is up there too though!

  • Happiest I think I may have ever been was the day I learned my baby brother was born. No one had more anticipation than me to have him come out to exist in this world. I still love him at his age of 25.

  • When my children were born. Nothing else has ever come close.

  • I'll let you know once it happens

I think my happiest memories in life were when I felt a realization of sorts and a sense of utter contentment. Like I was happy and grateful and lucky to have everything I did. These memories were nothing special, but they had such warm feelings attached. One of them is me playing minecraft alone on a rainy day with my dog laying next to me, the other is me taking pictures on top of a mountain with my friends while skiing.

I guess I enjoy the simple things in life lol

  • My happiest memories during childhood are anytime I spent time with my grandparents like when I was learning how to play pool and the cue stick was twice as tall as I was.

As an adult, most of my happy memories are from reconnecting with old friends who remember me fondly a decade or even 30 years after the fact. Makes me feel like I made a difference in their lives and I'm not truly alone.
