  • You know I have long missed my board gaming group. The games I enjoyed the most were

    • Legendary Encounters: Firefly edition
    • One Night Werewolf
    • Code Names
    • D&D (of course)

I would play and play test all manner of board games. I was apart of a war game group that once put together a Campaign for North Africa playthrough. We did not finish lol.

  • @KylieDawn This community has been around a good long while. Take a breath, look around; you may enjoy the experience more if you integrate rather than enter guns a'blazing.

We have been working our way through Pandemic Legacy Season 1 at our monthly game days. The shock (and horror) of destroying / permanently changing / throwing away pieces of the game has been almost as entertaining as the game itself ๐Ÿ˜‚

We're about halfway through and shit's getting real, to say the least ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€

Betrayal at House on the Hill and Catan are always popular options.

We also tried Happy Little Dinosaur, which made our dino nerds very happy and was a quick learn even with my poor working memory.

  • Listed below ๐Ÿ‘‡ are the 3 board games I used to play a lot growing up ๐Ÿ˜„ โ€ฆIโ€™ve to admit, a new game I came across and want to try is called โ€œPandemic.โ€ Just feels like one Iโ€™ve to play since we all just went/going through one !!!

    1- Monopoly
    2- Connect 4๏ธโƒฃ
    3- Scrabble

  • Southendoll you went classic games. I like it.

  • @cuddlefaery Betrayal at House on the Hill is so much fun and I love how it can change eat play.

II must now google Happy Little Dinosaur

  • @cuddlefaery oh I love BaHotH! Another similarly spooky game is Mysterium. My old group would light candles and get into the thematic of the game. Arkham Horror is also really fun.

  • My favorite hashtag is #moregames because I love being with a group of people playing table top. <3

  • If you like Betrayal at House on the Hill but want a bit of a change thereโ€™s Betrayal At Baldurs Gate.

Tyrants of the Underdark has great pacing. Each turn feels like you do something meaningful and thereโ€™s normally only a few minutes until your next turn comes around; even in 4 player games.

Plague Inc is also good; if you get tired of being the good guys in Pandemic.

Abyss can also be good once you understand how to play. Also the expansions increase the depth of play also (pun intended).

My favourite short two player game is Hanamikoji. A good competitive logic game.

Plenty of others I like but I figure this is a small essay already!

  • Oooooooooo I must look into this further

  • Connect 4 here.

  • I'm so brilliant today it's not even funny.

  • @Cessna_guy Connect 4 got heated when I was a kid. lol

  • Ill start with the ole top rock, then the down rock, and freeze or maybe a power move and maybe some foot work and style.

    @Sooson The ladder checkmate ๐Ÿชœ ๐Ÿ’ช

  • @Minestrone101 One of my favorites. i let him have a horse as a bait to clear the path. he fell for it

A lot of fun games on here; played many of them. I particularly like coop games. Three of my favorites are:

    Pandemic
    The D&D boardgames
    The Cthulhu boardgames

I also love playing tabletop rpgs like D&D and others. Played a lot of Runequest as a teenager too. Fond memories. Never played Werewolf or Vampire, but would love to.

  • Chess because it's all on you. There's no blaming the dice, or the luck of the draw for one's strategic mistakes.

Monopoly because it teaches the importance of having a 2nd stream of passive income.

  • I used to play a lot more games than I do now. Some of the favorites were:
    Battlestar Galactica
    The Village
    Castles of Burgundy
    The original (Eon) Cosmic Encounters

  • Into the echoside

  • @SunsetSnuggles Hahaha, who knew narwhal were so awesome? I didn't! ๐Ÿ˜

And, "They're Jedi of the sea," lol.

    Certainly chess too๐Ÿ‘

I love word games. WordSpiel, Wordical, Scrabble.

Card/decks. FLUXX is my all time favorite. With multi theme packs.

  • edited March 2024

@casualcomfortjo I like Fluxx as well. I like how easy it is to start out playing but how convoluted the game can get when there are a bunch of rule change cards in play.

Do you have a favorite themed deck? I agree that playing with multiple decks is fun.

  • [Deleted User]MaverickLegend (deleted user)

@KylieDawn i used to play mtg when revised came out and then the dark expansion followed. Havenโ€™t played it in years but was really fun playing in local and sanctioned tournaments also played lots of Friday night magic

  • Perfection is always good for a mini heart attack.
Rock em Sock em Robots has fun screaming matches.
Jenga is a great drinking game.
