That may be their preference. Definitely not my preference. I like to see.

Well, let me edit. I turn the overhead light off, and have a lamp on, and some fairy lights.

I do it because it creates a more relaxing environment for most. I normally have a candle going or a lamp on.

  • That's perfectly okay with me. I am pro-light switching off as it creates a more calming mood.

  • I believe they are shy

  • As long as the light is not above my face beaming into my eyeballs every time I look up, I don't mind haha

But I have never chosen the lighting, I have always asked what they prefer and usually it's dim lighting to soft lighting so far.

Or natural sunlight since I do cuddle sessions during the day time as well 🌞

  • I usually host a lot and I like to create an environment that feels relaxing but cool

If my cuddler would prefer lights on, obviously I would do that but I would say in my five years of pro cuddling, I have yet to come across someone that says β€œturn the lights on”

  • @Sheena123 beautiful atmosphere

  • You literally just made your profile and you're posting about things that you see so many pros doing ?

  • @someone000 thank you 🌸🌸

  • @pmvines I deleted my old account, Is it a crime to ask?

  • Nope , it's not a crime at all

  • @Sheena123 Sadly you're too far away for me to be able to enjoy that beautiful environment. It looks calming, relaxing, and gentle on my sensitive eyes.

@Unscented_Lemon No excuse, you still should visit her

I'd actually rather prefer the lights on. I associate dim lighting, candles, or mood lighting with romance rather than anything platonic.

  • @Vocalist100 maybe youre somewhat overthinking it. It can still be platonic.
I love that disco light thingie that some pros use.

@someone000 first, they will have to pass her rigorous screening process

  • @Unscented_Lemon awww I’d love to have a snuggle with you!! You never know! Maybe one day!!
@someone000 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ you tell them!! lol
@Sooson lol a picture of you, your name and meet publicly πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ all those dang pesky hoops to jump 🀣

  • @someone000 Cuddling is meant to be relaxing; a dim environment fosters that. It takes a lot of guts to be a successful and good Pro cuddler; I doubt that many of them are shy. I have yet to meet any shy Pro's. Most have been vivacious extroverts, very outgoing and bold. 😎

@Vocalist100 I associate candles with romance, as well. I would feel a little uncomfortable if a guy lit candles for a cuddle with me...it's just a little too stereotypical "romance" (like roses and chocolate), for me to not imagine he may have other ideas. πŸ•―πŸŒΉ

Soft lighting or the galaxy projectors would be great, though! πŸ’‘πŸŒŒ

  • @SunsetSnuggles That may be true. For me, I try to think of it as spa treatment. Scented candles or whatever may feel relaxing....it looks very therapeutic next to my lava lamp and Carmen Electra posters and the poster of dogs playing poker and clocks melting /s.

  • @Minestrone101 Don't leave your candles too close to your clocks. 😏

  • @SunsetSnuggles It may be melted, but the clock seems to have persisted.

@Unscented_Lemon I've always wanted one of those, they look so trippy! (Just to be clear, Minestrone and I are kidding.)

  • I have ambient lighting.

  • @someone000 for clarity's sake, what precisely do you mean by "shy"?

Reason I ask: it is super common to mix up introversion, social anxiety, and shyness when they are separate experiences/traits - though one can absolutely experience all three at once!

However, the only definition of "shy" that I can think of that is related to the lights being on or off has to do with the concept of modesty - i.e. calling someone "shy" (usually in a teasing or even derogatory manner) if they display more rigid boundaries regarding clothing or behavior modesty than the social norm or yourself. (Note: general you, not OP specifically)

Thus why I ask what "shy" means to OP, because definitions vary and change context.

  • @pmvines my spidey senses are tingling too. This reads like a fishing expedition to me, but perhaps OP will prove me wrong.

I just know all too well the number of times I've "jokingly" been called "shy" for not exposing more skin, accompanied by repeated boundary pushing, coercion, and gaslighting....and this sure sounds like that. Just a few too many yellow flags, ya know?

My dedicated cuddle room at my house has a very soothing ambiance with soft dim lights at night. This LED night lights has very slow moving ocean waves, it's almost hypnotic. It's equipped with it's own Bluetooth speaker which I always turned off so it won't be flashing or moving with the sound of the beat. All my clients said it helped them relax & calm down. During the day it's bright & sunny with garden views.

  • Re ambiance: overhead lights are terrible for folks with sensory issues, migraines, etc. It usually doesn't matter how much you dim it, if it's all LED, if it's pretty colors... If it's coming from overhead and we're reclined or laying down, it ain't fun. Thus why "mood lighting" is so much better - it's less taxing on the nervous system. I personally prefer warm whites over cool, and reds and amber are better than blues even though the green-blue-violet end of the spectrum is my favorite πŸ˜… I just wish those galaxy lamps looked as cool in red!

Just be mindful if you're one of those people who uses purdy colored lights that flash/change with music or TV and give your cuddle partner advanced warning. Getting a migraine, seizure, or overly stimulated before or during a cuddle definitely ruins the mood.

  • I would guess it's similar to the "ASMR" world. They simply know what they are doing, and do it well
This thread it's actually just now making me draw many parallels between ASMR and cuddling. When I first saw ASMR on YouTube, it was filled with many weirdos wanting to make a quick buck. I was thinking "what in the fresh heck is this shizzle?!" Then I discovered the good ones, the talented ones, the ones who "get it". With their galaxy lights, fancy microphones, perfect background music. My goosies were goosified!

So I continue to wade through the "virtual leg humpers" of the cuddle world to find the hidden gems. ( In my best Sid from Ice Age voice "WaNnA CuDdLe, YeR ShEcSeE) IYKYK
